I don't understand why Navy personnel can't get a discount on flights.

Oh the air transportation companies! Gosh if i could get my Sailor to New Orleans then i could get a good price. Can not believe the cost of tickets and they changed on me in a click. I wasn't fast enough with the button so the next price was two hundred more. Oh my head! These companies know we want our loved ones home. Ok enough of my venting. I'm going to go have some chocolate. Have a good one Michganders

Hey Michigan Moms, one of my other groups metioned a blue candle for our sailors who are away. Hubby built this star yesterday and we put blue lights for all our sailors who are serving us so proudly. We're on a pretty much dead end road near Arcadia, but please come see if you want to.

Hey Everyone--THANK YOU for all your kind wishes. My husband was the one to get the I'M A SAILOR CALL. But I think he memorized the conversation for me!! My SAILOR (ha ha) went to a church in the area that feeds the SR that don't have anywhere to go a big Thanksgiving dinner and some much deserved R & R. He said there were 193 SR. Verizon gave them calling cards too! He called his Grandma Darlenes house where the whole family was and he was able to talk to EVERYBODY--Aunts, Uncles, Cousins the whole kitten kaboodle! Said BS21 was fun, was tried and sick but otherwise very upbeat. Were leaving tomorrow for GL. Hope to meet ya at M & G we should get there in time. Staying at the Navy Lodge. Thanks again, and good luck to those who have yet to "Join the Fleet".

So totally agree with MarianneKT'sMom- Gritti those letters are a wonderful thing for them and us. and if there are tears, well you just let them roll that's ok. Just don't listen to James Taylor in the tub. Good Luck to you and your daughter!

Gitti - start writing those letters! Your daughter will love receiving and reading them and it will do wonders for you;)

...our daughter just arrived at boot camp....wishing her and the 61 other recruits the best of luck....

I totally understand, Dunesmom. They often don't know what time they can leave until the week of their leave. It doesn't make for smooth trip planning. Good luck working out the details.
