For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi fellow Michigan moms, looking and feeling like it's getting to be winter. Congrats to all who get to spend the holidays with their cubs. Mine is settling in comfortably in Japan so won't be home, hope someone takes him home for Thanksgiving, as I'm sure someone will. On a good note his little brother is coming home from Kalamazoo and we'll invite Brandon's old roommate over to share Thanksgiving too.

OK - I think I am back into the swing of things now that my Seabee is back to base and settled in (he only forgot one small box of movies). He classes up for ECS next Monday and won't be home for Thanksgiving (it is ok, we had an early one with the family while he was home - which was a great time). I am a little bummed because he will only have 2 1/2 days at Christmas time and said he would like to wait until he has more time to come home again. I guess I just have to get used to that. It will prepare me for when he is deployed some day. At least I get phone calls. This will give me time to build up my vacation time too for a trip to see him in the spring and time off when he is home. For those that get to see their loved ones over the holidays - I hope you all have a great time.

Thanks, Uli. I kind of wondered if he could ask for special consideration but plans are all set now. I should have pushed him a little harder on checking it out.

Scott had an accident this week and wrecked his car (snow). He's ok but he's looking for a new car.

To the3dsmom: I hope your son gets his orders and you get some holiday time with him. Scott only has a 5 day weekend and it doesn't look promising for Christmas so this will be our holiday with him.
Here's a question for anyone who cares to answer. I could have saved $200 on the flight if Scott could have taken an early morning flight, but he can't leave base until after they muster between 8 and 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day! Why would they require this on a holiday?

Scott gets to come home for Thanksgiving! At last, a chance to catch up and find out when he'll finish prototype and what's next. Flights aren't cheap but I was happy to find non-stop here and back. Can't wait!
