Hope you all have a great time in Frankenmuth. I won't be making it. Have to work after all. Really wanted to be there and meet so many of you. Probably won't make another one because I am moving to Florida in October. I still plan on keeping track of the Michigan Moms though since I am always TRUE BLUE. Be it U of M or Navy. BTW...thanks for everybodies prayers for my SIL Luke in the AF. Him and his squardon returned Monday, June 22 from Afghanistan all safe & sound! Now my daughter, Ali & SIL Luke can close on the house they bought in Arkansas while he was in Afghanistan. They are staying in the AF, but settling down in AR for atleast 5-6 years. Congrats Jeanne on your son's graduation! Also, congrats to Penny on your son's graduation from A school and assigned to USS George H W Bush! Finally, congrats to Kathy B and Rachel getting her wings! They are all awesom accomplishments!!

Jeremy's Mom, all the advice that the other ladies have given is right on. I agree with them that you should give her the chance to attend if she wants too, but maybe she won't be able to make it. Just make sure that you don't tell Jeremy anything about her being unfaithful while he is in BC. He is going to be so full of confidence and so mature after he graduates that he will be able to figure out if she is still 'right' for him. I remember getting that first phone call too. Allen cried too, and it was really hard not to give in and cry with him. Allen played baseball & football in school so I tried to remind him of how hard his first few practices where each year. He was in great physical shape when he went to BC and it still kicked his butt. Jeremy will come through this and so will you. Hang in there! It really does get better. It is REALLY worth all the pain & suffering when you see him at PIR.

Mary! That is so great! Hawaii is one place I would love to go visit. I'm sure you will have a great time visiting him there. Congrats to Nick for being #1!!!! That is really tough. I am sure you are very proud. He should be of himself. We are all so proud of him too.

Hi ladies, so very much is going on in our house lately!

We had a fabulous gathering in Chattanooga last night with MCPON West and his staff and almost 40 Navy familes came from Georgia and Tennessee. Super nice MCPON.

Our son still has a couple of months of C school today BUT he did call this morning and he got ORDERS!!! Totally caught me off guard! He was #1 in his class so he got first pick of orders. Had a choice between Norfolk and Hawaii...can I just tell ya - there is a grass skirt in my future!!!! He's happy!

I haven't been able to get on and comment in quite a while. Just wanted to thank everybody for your prayers for my Allen. He is home on a 3 wk leave. He spent one week with me and is spending 2 wks in Jackson with his father. He leaves to go back to VA on Sunday, June 14. It was so WONDERFUL to have him here and spend some quality time with him. I pray for his safe return to VA.

Kathy B - I think it would be awesome if your daughter was 30,000th! The way you figured out how to record your own video of her ban performing is very ingenious. It sounds like something I would do. haha!

Kathy C. - the story about Danielle and her munchies in Japan is pretty funny.

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to make it to Frankenmuth on June 27th after all. I had to take such a long leave without pay from work when my daughter Alison was sick in Arkansas, that I can't really afford to go. Also, I just started a 2nd job working on Saturdays and can't leave that either. Hopefully I can make another meet sometime. I am planning on moving to Florida in October to live with my mother (who is widowed) but plan on keeping in touch with the Michigan Moms group.

Also, doggone those Red Wings! I was hoping they would take the Stanley Cup in 4 or 5 games. It sure is going to be a celebration though in Detroit on Friday nite when they take it at home!!!

I just received a call from Robert, he will be on the USS West Virginia, Ohio Class sub out of Kings Bay, GA. Gold crew. He is so excited that is just where he wanted to be.
Kathy B I think tht is great about your daughter, It would be neat if she was 30000th wing.
Kathy C, I think they know we are proud, they just keep it all inside.
See you all in Frankenmouth

Welcome to all the new members!

KellieB - just seen your note about your son. I suspect he is more nervous about it then he is letting on. I mean, he cannot tell you that ,,.right?!!! Our son made me crazy his last month before leaving - I felt like he should have been in training mode or at the recruiter's office or SOMETHING that resembled a Depper about to leave for boot camp but not a single sign! Part of me wondered if they would send him back home as I clearly didn't think he was ready but...he surprised us, he actually earned his first phone call on day 8 cause he knew all the answers to some test. So I think when we're not looking...they are actually preparing for boot camp! I bet he does great ;-)
