I haven't been able to get on and comment in quite a while. Just wanted to thank everybody for your prayers for my Allen. He is home on a 3 wk leave. He spent one week with me and is spending 2 wks in Jackson with his father. He leaves to go back to VA on Sunday, June 14. It was so WONDERFUL to have him here and spend some quality time with him. I pray for his safe return to VA.

Kathy B - I think it would be awesome if your daughter was 30,000th! The way you figured out how to record your own video of her ban performing is very ingenious. It sounds like something I would do. haha!

Kathy C. - the story about Danielle and her munchies in Japan is pretty funny.

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to make it to Frankenmuth on June 27th after all. I had to take such a long leave without pay from work when my daughter Alison was sick in Arkansas, that I can't really afford to go. Also, I just started a 2nd job working on Saturdays and can't leave that either. Hopefully I can make another meet sometime. I am planning on moving to Florida in October to live with my mother (who is widowed) but plan on keeping in touch with the Michigan Moms group.

Also, doggone those Red Wings! I was hoping they would take the Stanley Cup in 4 or 5 games. It sure is going to be a celebration though in Detroit on Friday nite when they take it at home!!!

I just received a call from Robert, he will be on the USS West Virginia, Ohio Class sub out of Kings Bay, GA. Gold crew. He is so excited that is just where he wanted to be.
Kathy B I think tht is great about your daughter, It would be neat if she was 30000th wing.
Kathy C, I think they know we are proud, they just keep it all inside.
See you all in Frankenmouth

Welcome to all the new members!

KellieB - just seen your note about your son. I suspect he is more nervous about it then he is letting on. I mean, he cannot tell you that ,,.right?!!! Our son made me crazy his last month before leaving - I felt like he should have been in training mode or at the recruiter's office or SOMETHING that resembled a Depper about to leave for boot camp but not a single sign! Part of me wondered if they would send him back home as I clearly didn't think he was ready but...he surprised us, he actually earned his first phone call on day 8 cause he knew all the answers to some test. So I think when we're not looking...they are actually preparing for boot camp! I bet he does great ;-)

Hi all Wow June is comming fast. Actually might evan be warm by then. here is the all the info for the 27th. dinner at the bavarian Inn at 6pm. I will give them a more accurate count the closer we get to the 27th. We should have a very good turn out judging by the responces. As Trina said there are not many rooms left so I hope you all made reservations. Ther are also 2 campgrounds near by for the more adventurous amoung us. Also Saginaw is not that far away if you can not get rooms in Frankenmuth. There are also some B&B's if you go onto the Frenmuth web site. I set up dinner so everyone will oder and pay for their own. That way we did not have to leave a deposit. I hope that is ok with all. I plan to get to the Inn a bit before 6 to greet everyone and see that they have it all together for us. We should have a great time. See you all there.
also for those mom's with sons/daughters in the Altlantic Fleet it is 'Fleet Week" in New York this week and almost all of the news shows are showing the sailors so hope you get a glimps of yours.
See ya all in JUNE....

Hello everybody! I am so happy to hear that PIR was everything and more that all of you expected. It is the most amazing thing to watch your child and realize they have grown up in such a short time. Good news for me! Allen is coming home for 3 weeks on Thursday, May 21st. He is staying with me for a week and then going to Jackson to spend 1-2 wks with is father. Please pray for his safe travels. I am in Arkansas right now with my daughter in Little Rock Air Force Base. I will be traveling home on Tuesday, May 19th. Can't wait to see Allen after almost a year. Yahoo!!!! God is good! I know all you are enjoying or have enjoyed time with your children and am happy. Cherish it!

Hi Cheryl Lynn,
My name is Cathie and I also live in Grand Rapids. My son graduated from Northview and is currently stationed at NAS Corpus Christi, but soon will be going to Norfolk. My daughter graduated last year and will be a Sophomore at CMU.

Sheila,
Troy was at Sigonella for awhile. He was with HC-4 before it was disestablished.
Maybe we could plan a get together on this side of the state. My daughter is just finishing up her freshman year at college, she is a pre-med student. No grandkids yet, at least, not that I know of. I work full time in an IT department, have a dog and a cat, make quilts, attempt to garden and spend too much time on the computer, LOL.
