Hope that everyone who was traveling home yesterday made it safely. Know that we had lots of snow & ice here in Edwardsburg, MI. My son isn't coming home for Christmas this year though. It is going to be tough for me. I am praying for him and everybody who can't be home either. I am lighting a blue candle for him and a white candle for my SIL in the Air Force too.
Aunt Tracey, I know how you feel about wanting to be there at PIR to see your nephew. My mom & sisters wanted to attend my son, Allen's in Oct, 07 and weren't able to due to him being limited on how many tickets. His father, stepmother & stepsister as well as me, his sister & niece were the ones using the tickets. We were not aware that he could get extra tickets or that he was going to get liberty all weekend so they could have came with us to see him anyway. It was really awesome though seeing him for the first time since he left for basic. I am sure that you all will be as proud and excited as we all were when we experienced PIR. Make sure he gets you a copy of the PIR. We tried to video tape it, but it was almost impossible. Merry Christmas and God bless.

Hi Michigan Moms -- my dad lives in Belleville and called to say he had about 8" of snow and they are closing metro airport (?) We are living by the phone as our Sailor is trying to come home on leave today and he is in Chicago...not the best day for travel. Hope everyone gets to where they need to be safely today.

Watching the weather reports ladies...we live in Atlanta now but just found out that I only have to work Monday and Tuesday next week so thinking about making a surprise/quick trip to Michigan for the holidays. We will have our sailor home with us and I'm sure his grandparents would LOVE to see him (and maybe us too!!) I'm waiting until he arrives home on Friday to make sure he has not made plans with friends before I drop the bomb on hubby...all I want for Christmas is a trip to Michigan!!! LOL

Hi Lisa, thanks for the info. I look forward to the meeting this spring. I've never been to Texas in August, but lived in Oklahoma in the summer so know what you mean by that. lol

Hello, Lisa! I see that you are from Jackson County too! Yahoo! I don't know of any other moms from my neck of the woods. I am originally from Jackson, but am currently living in Cass County. It would be great to meet you someday.
