They are not set on a specific area - they are in Lansing now and her mom lives in Sterling Heights so they want to head closer that way (it's about an hour and half away now).  They want to be within about an hour range from her - no more.  I guess it's a good thing that they are "open" to areas lol!  There's also Auburn Hills, Garden City and Grand Blanc that they are looking at.

B'sNukeMoM: oh that's too bad!! I honestly didn't know that was a thing... I hope the new house they are looking at is even better! I am on the west side of the state so now I have to check and see where Burton is. I have friends all over the Detroit suburbs from college days... I hope they find the perfect home! Are they trying to stay near a certain location?

So they can't move to Waterford - there's a ban on pit bulls there and one of their sweet pups is part pittie.  They are looking at a house in Burton today.  Looks pretty nice - I hope it works out for them!

Shannon - Hopefully your form letter will be arriving any day now!

The kids went and looked at a house in Waterford this morning.  I'm anxious to hear what they thought of it.

Shannon - my youngest is one that got stuck paying a lease.  He's a coach at UNL and when the pandemic hit he came home (to Ca) in mid March.  Continued to pay his lease in Nebraska until it was up in July.  Now he's back in NE - leasing a different house and he thinks he might be home again in just a matter of weeks.   UNL started online classes only this week and next week they transition to in-person classes.  Just waiting to see what happens when they do and how many cases they end up with. Ugh it's so frustrating.

BsNukeMom:  Makes me sad to see State go to online only but I understand it. Makes me cringe to think of all of the people who are stuck in expensive leases they can’t get out of!  I know when I was there we paid outrageous amounts monthly to live off campus!  (But I guess that is the way it is when you live 4 blocks from campus).
