JJ, so happy for you!  Enjoy the precious time you get with your sailor!  We'll all have lots to talk about in Nov., won't we?

LOL....at my age, I am also impressed that I remembered her name!!!  It sounds as though two weddings will be a blast. Don't forget the pictures! I haven't heard Who is arranging or Where the next get together is going to be. I will be gone over the weekend of the 9th of Novemeber so I am hoping it isn't going to be that weekend.  Will be seeing my Navy guy in Colorado Springs!!!  It has been a long time, so nothing is going to stop me from being with him on his birthday!

Thx all.  Good memory, JJ.  Yes, Megan is her name.  They're having a courthouse ceremony in the Seattle area.  Hope to renew vows in a "normal" wedding back home next year. Megan has a degree in fashion design and is making her own dress.  I can't wait to see it.  Dave will wear his dress blues. Will post pics and/or bring them to Nov get together.  She considers herself lucky that she'll be the rare bride who gets to wear her dress twice!  Hugs to all of you and your precious Sailors!

Congrats Davesmom! Exciting news :-)

mariecg - Enjoy PIR! It is an amazing experience. Take lots of pictures :-)

JPeder - When I e-mail I ask "How's it going", I get back, "Good, same as always." lol. I heard about the typhoon too. At least we hear something, right? :-)

Welcome mariecb!  I hope that you can meet with other moms that have children in the Navy for it will be a great support for all of you in the Duluth. If you every get down to the Twin Cities when we have get togethers, please join us.

My son is just finishing boot camp on Friday and we are going for the PIR.  He will do his A school at Great Lakes but is still hoping to get into the Seal Training.  We live in Duluth.  I see there is at least one other person in this group from Northern MN.  I do know of two other families who have children in the Navy from Duluth - I may have to try get them to join this group!

I love / hate the emails I get from my sailor when he is on the ship.
I emailed him and asked the usual questions- how's it going? did you survive the typhoon? Did you get to go on shore? etc etc...
He emails back - good, yup, yup gotta go by love ya
At least its a message  back but really??  : )

Hi mayork. I am somewhat in Northern MN. I live in Brainerd. There are a few other moms in this group up here--however when I look at their profiles I see that many of them have not been active for over a year. My so has been in for almost one year and is stationed in Japan. Ask questions of me, this group or other groups. Everyone is very helpful!

I would love to have a gathering 'up north'!! The gatherings in the cities have always landed on the one Saturday each month that I am scheduled to work. Someday I will get there....

mayork....click on "view all" just to the right under the pictures of members and it will take you over to all the members. you can look through the list and see if there are other moms in your area.  Then you can set up a "get together" in your area, or you can contact the member in your area individually and see if others want to meet.  Otherwise, at the bottom of the page on the right is a "Members online" and you can check there as well.  Good luck.  If ou are ever in the neighbor when the moms are meeting in the Twin Cities....drop on by.  We would love to have you.

Hi there Ladies, I'm new to this whole thing here...just curious if there are any more moms from Northern MN...I live in East Grand Forks, MN. I see you have occasional get-togethers down in the cities area...but that is 5 hours for me :( My sailor is in GP, she is a Seabee in waiting. :) they are supposed to class up this week, but now looks like her hold is going to be longer!
