Military Motto:  Hurry up and wait!!

Doesnt matter what branch of the military your children are in, it is all the same. Nothing is set in stone, just have to roll with the punches. I am sure that all of us would love to be "in the loop" but once our children put on that uniform, all bets are off. As Navy moms, we handle the "not knowing" the best. We are strong and very supportive, we know that we did our best in raising independent young adults. Pat yourselves on the back!

Personally, I think it is a good idea if they consulted with us first but we're lucky if we know what's going on at all.

Congrats to Megan (If I remember correctly). What wonderful news.  Can we crash the wedding??  LOL  She will make a beautiful bride. How fun!  This will be great to have wonderful news and I hope pictures at the get together in November!! No one has set anything up as of yet for October, so I hope that someone schedules something soon.  I leave for Vegas on the 16th so I hope I bring home some money!!  Is anyone open for the 12th of this month?  If we have people interested....we will set up something up.

My heart goes out to the Nimitz sailors and their families.  Sorry I didn't make it to the last get together.  I dropped by with good news to share.  I attended the July get together with a young lady who has been my sailor's girlfriend for the past 3-1/2 years.  She will become his wife on Oct. 25!  They got engaged the week after the lunch we attended.

Prayers from here also for all those on the Nimitz and the families of those involved in the helicopter loss.  I too hope to make a MN gathering soon.

RobinM - Praying for everyone on the Nimitz! Sorry to hear this!!

Couldn't make it Saturday, we were at Family Weekend for my daughter's college. It was nice seeing her. We got an e-mail from our Sailor shortly before leaving. They weathered the tropical storm ok :-)

Great picture of you ladies from Saturday! Hope to make the next one.

JJ, Lovely photo of the September's MN Navy Moms Luncheon participants.  Nice!

Sorry I had to miss it.

Robin, I had NOT known until I saw your post about about the accident involving an HSC-6 CVN 11 helicopter attached to the Nimitz which fell into the Red Sea this morning.

This made my heart sink!  Prayers going heavenward!

Sorry I have been MIA ladies. Had kids coming and going since June and then friends. After all that depression hit as I am waiting for my daughter to get back and as most of you are aware their deployment has been extended. Ombudsman sent email this AM that if you do not here from those on the Nimitz do not be alarmed as they are busy with search efforts. That being said I am leaving Tuesday for a few days to help my cousin in D.C. That will keep my mind off of things and am going to take on a visit to see the lone sailor again. It is so peaceful to just sit there and pray. Take care everyone and I will try to stay more connected. Maybe that would help me get through 3 being gone.
