OK...here is the update on Eric Robert.....The Black Forest Fire is only 5% contained. It is about one mile east of his house.  Winds are still strong at about 38 mph. Eric and his family have been evacuated from their home.  They spent last night and the next three nights at a hotel.  When they left, they took pictures, the computer, some clothes and all their important papers. That's it. They are all safe now.

Hang in there, JJ, things will get better. 'Sorry to hear about your sister.

Last night of the cruise, after everyone had gone to sleep, the ship had a fire alert. I know, just the idea alone is devastating. It turned out it was a coffee pot in one of the restaurants. Wow! Was my heart in my throat that night!

Smoke is drifting as far north as (oldest son) Patrick's house in Castle Rock. They say it smells like a bad camp fire! (It's a really big camp fire!) Highway 83 separates Eric house from the fire....just minutes across the Highway.  Haven't heard from them, so no news is good news!  Thanks everyone for your prayers.

Another update: My sister's funeral was on Monday and things went well. Early this afternoon my mom was taken to the hospital and had emergency surgery due to food getting lodged in her esophagus. She is doing well. Anything else that the good Lord can throw at me?...Bring it on, I'm ready.

Hello all....The wild fire in Colorado Springs (The Black Forest Fire) is getting close to Eric Roberts new house!  They have been in it ONE day! They are hearing talk of evacuation.  A call was put into his brother (who lives in Castle Rock) farther North. Not sure at this point but hoping that his brother will put them up for the night or two. So, until I hear more, please send out prayers for all who are close to the fires.  Thanks

Judy and LInda, and anyone else who'd like to join us.  Here is some additional information on our "meet/greet" on the 20th

Olde Boston's Restaurant & Pub      809 Central Ave, Fort Dodge, IA  at

12 noon    Google says it is  about 2.5 hours from Mankato‎ I would want to leave here by about 9 am I think.  It would be fun to have a car full for a mini road trip.

I want to thank all those who sent prayers and condolences. That is one of the best things about the Navy for Moms.....you are all my extended family! You have made this very difficult time easier for me.  Thanks again.

Anyone here interested in a drive with me to meet up with some IA/Omaha Navy moms.  The plan is for the 20th of June.  We are thinking Fort Dodge is kinda central point. Details are not all worked out yet, but I have that day set aside.
