Hi Everyone I have been encouraged by all the wonderful support on the site. We are anxiously awaiting Nick's Grad date on August 26th. Can anyone tell me what the normal pass is after graduation? Will it just be Friday? Will he most likely get Sat off too? Trying to get flights for PIR date. Also, any favorite hotels nearby? Thanks so much!

Hello All! My son is leaving for boot camp on July 5th! I'm fortunate to be both a Navy Brat and a Navy Vet myself, in addition to the proud sister of a Navy Recruiter! With all of my Navy knowlege, I'm still a nervous wreck about my firstborn's departure. :O

I'm so glad to have found this very supportive site! I live about 20 minutes east of KC, wondering if there are many other N4M members close by?

My daughter left this week from Norfolk on the USS Whidbey Island, she saidshe'll be gone 6-9 months. She's only been in the Navy 8 months so this is all still new for me. Have no idea how we get in touch with each other... proud of her.. but miss her so....
