Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We are the medical department (Corpsman both Navy and Marine Medics)on the USS Makin Island with the 11th MEU. Most of us are station in the San Diego area some came from Arizona. 

There are about 70 of us living on the ship in 5th Fleet. 12 Females and 58 Males We do have racks but we love to be clean so Clorox or Lysol wipes, pine sol, sponges, and dish soap as these are a luxury for medical so the ship supply doesn\'t carry these items.

Requests:
We do have a microwave, a fridge and freeazer and cannot always get chow in time with our patient load so easy on the go things are great!
Easy Mac
Rice a roni bowls
Anything microwavable
Single serving of cereals (frosted flakes, coco pebbles, peanut butter crunch etc)
tuna packets
hot sauce (tapatio is the fave along with siracha)
oatmeal - flavored
coffee (dunkin donuts)
popcorn
apple sauce
granola bars
chex mix (spicy)
hot cheetos
gummy worms
pringles (small cans)
beef jerky (peppered)
anything spicy or jalapeno flavored 
monsters (not sure if they ship)
mints
slim jims
yarn (we have some crafty corpsman)
colored paper (we will send thank you letters)
butter scotch
starburst
goldfish (queso and/or other flavors)

For females:
loofahs
st.ives cleanser (if possible)

make up remover

nail polish (bright colors for toes)

OK Mom's this is a group that is near and dear to my heart. My son was on the Makin Island's maiden voyage ,he is....yes you got it a Corpsman. I had the privilege of taking a Tiger Cruse  from Pearl to San Diego and see how they work and live. We need to show these care givers some MOM LOVE

We are in!! I'll get started on pillow cases this week, incase we need them, and will get with some friends and get some goodies available. Will the ladies like homemade scrubs (sugar and salt)?

I think they would love some. I am so excited for this adoption. My son will be home the end of December and he wants to send some  "stuff'  too. 

GREAT!! I was going to make some for Christmas gifts, so I'll just make some extra. Also a good reason to clean out unused polishes from my drawer (I'm a hair dresser and always think I need a new polish when I go to the supply house then never use it... Lol).

I know the girls will love it. Having slept in with the girls it was fun watching them  become girly even if they were only getting ready for bed.
