Donna, Something to consider........how much money will be wasted shipping more cardboard???

Pat,

I'm not to sure what you mean.

Back when you gave me the information on the adoption I thought you told me to decide if I wanted to do individual boxes, or boxes to share.

I'm happy to do what ever you prefer. My packing party is Saturday Jan 17th.  Just let me know what you want us to do.

donna

Hi Donna - are you asking that the mom's pack their boxes aimed at each sailor, not a box to share...i.e. a box full of snacks or box of personal care items with several in it to spread among the personnel?

Hi Valerie,

My mistake.  We should pack boxes to share among the sailors and NOT individual boxes.

Sorry for any confusion.

donna

I prefer the share boxes too, because then they can pick out or barter for whatever they want.  Plus, I think you can get the equivalent of an extra small box in the large box by avoiding the extra cardboard

Hi Donna

I posted on FB that I would be sending also.  Have to clean out my stash (hoping to be moving closer to son, DIL and grandson - our 1st is expected in May!!!)

I know I have some shampoo, body wash, deodorant, tooth paste, powdered drink mixes, couple Yahtzee in card form.

Dee

Thank you Denise.

What an exciting time this must be for you and your family.  May will be here before you know it.

Hi Donna,

The St. Francis bake sale was a huge success!  The Confirmation classes decided that they wanted to split up the proceeds between several adoptions based on the number of deployed.

They allocated $1,000 to the USS Dewey.  Woo Hoo!

I will be with several kids and parents as they shop at Costco Wednesday evening.  Please let me know if you want them to buy a variety of items of if they should concentrate on anything specific.  I have several copies of the USS Dewey wish list to take along to Costco.

I will message you my cell number.  Text me or call me if you need to get in touch with me.  We will be packing boxes on January 17th.

Laura,

Great  job by your confirmation class.  The  USS Dewey is going to be so happy with all the great items on there way.

Today I picked up from the Girl Scout Council here in CT 20 cases of Girl Scout cookies.  The CT Navy moms have done an outstanding job with donations also.

My party is on the 17th too.   I didn't get your cell number.   If you want to contact me please use my email donnabreunig@yahoo.com.  That's the best way to reach me.

donna

Hello again Donna!

We had a fun packing party today.  About 25 kids, and a few adults sprinkled in, packed a total of 58 boxes today!  Plus Pat's three boxes of pillow cases means that we will be shipping out 61 boxes on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week a woman, who didn't want to give her name, dropped off a little over 100 cards containing the most beautifully written sentiments for the sailors.  We included several cards in every box.  She told the receptionist that knowing that they would be read by those serving far from home was thanks enough.

Fingers crossed for the boxes to arrive soon and in one piece!

That's awesome Laura!  Glad everyone had a great time.  Great Job!

Yesterday I, with the help of the Connecticut Navy Parents group I belong to had our party. We have packed up 101 boxes for the Dewey.

We have approx 30 more boxes that will be donated to next month's adoption.  In addition to these boxes we have also donated hundreds of items to a Homeless Veteran Group  called Home of the Brave here in Connecticut.

I just want to thank Molly's and everyone that works so hard each month on these adoptions.
