Hello ladies, How to explain.BC party this weekend, went fabulious. Too busy to get on line and currently no time to read back 20 pages. I AM ON A MISSION. Ok daughter has gone down to MEPS in San Diego, lousy recruiter!!!!!! Daughter went with only clothes on her back, less things to send home. Found out after she got there that she will do all her medical tomorrow and won't even fly out to GL until Wednesday. Daughter is stressing and hates the idea that she will spend 3 days in the same clothes. Not happy mama bear right now. So I am just about on my way to spend 2 hours plus on a CA freeway at rush hour. No a happy camper!!! But you know us moms, we would do anything for our kids. Don't know if she will approve but I plan on staying the night and watching her swear in tomorrow.

Pat.
I agree with you also. And if it isn't MS than let's figure out what it is and get it treated!! Having constant pain like that can just get on your nerves after awhile also. You can't enjoy anything else going on around you if all you do is hurt. Prayers are being sent for wisdom of the doctors to find out what's wrong!!

Blondie,
Wait you said Oct 24, this Thursday!!! Is it Oct or September??

Hello everyone - glad to see everyone is doing ok - except our dear Jenn (who I think we've all adopted!!) Pat, you know I am keeping her in my prayers. You don't live near a military base do you? If so, maybe Jenn could come home and go see another doctor. I wonder if even there in Balboa if she could get a second opinion? I pray they can learn something soon!!!

I got such a chuckle from the comments about all us old ladies - and I'd be one of those also!! We could always change our logo picture to a pink rocking chair!!!

Joanne,
I'm happy your cousins husband is back on US soil. Will he be stateside for good now or will he possibly be going back over? On one of my other groups a Mom posted not too long ago that her son was going back over there somewhere. And I thing WA state is far away!!!

Blondie,
So glad you got back to us this morning

Sherry James,
Good to see you here

And hello NavyMomXXXY,
Thank you for helping out Barb!!

Hi all,

NavyMomBarb ~ I would caution your daughter to not be so quick to judge the Navy experience based on one person -or even two or three. While there is certainly some truth to what she has heard about there being challenges/difficulties in balancing the military lifestyle with marriage/children, honestly what career life doen't have some challenges. A few moms have already written of the great value of a college education and one that is debt free is ...well, almost priceless and nothing to sneeze at, so to speak.

Personally, I think that five years of virtually invaluable military (one of our best corporations) is a VERY small price to pay for a good college education AND one of the toughest & most vast work experiences she could ever receive, but then again, it is NOT for the faint of heart or for everyone (not unlike many good opportunities).

If this is your daughter's plebe (first) year you should explain to her that it DOES get better, though usually not easy, but better! For this year she is at the bottom of the rung in pecking order and she will be made to know it but she will eventually move up and move on. My experience is based on my daughter, who is both an USNA grad (go Navy) and a female Naval Officer that has been on the job for over a year. Also I have helped other young ladies from my area go through the Academy.

Barb, since we are friends already, please feel free to contact me by post or PM to discuss more specifics if you would like my thoughts.
