Hi,
Her graduation ( PIR ) is on November 4, 2022. She is then going to A school at GL as well. I think one of the main things that gets to me is the " not knowing everything" about her life now. My head understands why the military wants them to be completely focused on training but my heart , well.........

Liz you sure can share that. Also, what is she doing after BC?

We may have a mom or two on here with some experience in her area.

How long has your daughter been gone?  The first couple weeks were the hardest for me.

Welcome Liz!  I think all of us would agree with JayDee - minutes seem like days when our girls are in BC! Come here and keep us updated on her progress and we'll help answer any questions you may have. This group of wonderful ladies helped me get through the tough days when I felt like I was on a roller coaster!

They LOVE getting letters in BC so definitely write. If you don't time stamp like JayDee did, put a small number on the back corner of your envelope so you daughter knows the sequence.

Hey JayDee, our sailor's bc 7th anniversary was this year too - hers was March. Wow, hard to believe it's been that long!

I hope everyone is well, special hello to you Anna!

Hi!
Thank you so much for your support. My husband died 3 years ago so I am really happy to have found these groups. I have been using my phone and yes, it seems more difficult to join groups and find links and banners this way. I just wrote two letters so I am drained from crying. I will get on the desktop and join according to the rules. Can I say what date , God willing, my daughter will graduate ? ( PIR )

Hi Liz, welcome!

BC does seem to last forever!  But believe me, before you know it, the time will be gone.  Next week will make the 7th anniversary of the day we dropped our daughter off at MEPS, I look back and wonder where that time went.

When she was at BC I heard from her more often than I expected, same thing when she was deployed.

Something that helped me when she was at BC was that I started a letter to her on my computer.  Every time I thought of something, I'd time stamp the letter and add to it. Once a week I'd print ut and pop it in the mail. She told me that she read it by section, giving her something to look forward to each day.

Just reach out to us when you need to talk. Anna, Oleander and I are old hands at this!

Sorry - I just got a notice that you had joined the BC Mom group!! Way to go. Now you can join the Nov PIR group as well. :-)  In that group, you may share your daughter's division #.

Hi Liz, I left you a reply to your Thank You discussion and I also posted a comment on your profile page. You managed to join this group. So, if you go to the link that B'sNukeMom and I both provided for the BC Mom group, and you click the join button in the upper right corner of the group page, then it should automatically accept you.

When you go back to your profile page, (click on My Page) in the blue banner above it will take you to your page. Scroll down and in the middle you should see icons of your different groups. You can click on the BC Mom group there or from the link we shared.

As I say often, this site is much easier for me to navigate on my computer. If you are on a mobile device, be sure to put it into desktop mode.

To add to another group for you to join -  PIR November 2022 is now set up. That one you will click on the yellow banner where it tells you to. You will have to wait for B'sNukeMom to approve you before you may post in that group. That one is a private group, and the posts are not visible to the public like here or in the BC Mom group.

Hi Chipmunk !
I'm not really sure how to navigate through the groups yet but I will try my best to share with everyone that has lived ones in BC at GL. I'm hoping that we will somehow meet at PIR in November. I'm also not sure if I am allowed to share her division. I hope they are all adjusting to what seems to me an unbearable 10 weeks !

Liz - I am glad that you joined this group. Be sure to come and say hello so the other members can get to know you. I actually joined this group, once my son got married and my DIL is a sailor as well.
