Anyone else have loved ones there? I'm really worried. My son just moved into housing, doesn't even have his goods yet. Goods just got to island Friday, and are just sitting in the container. Hopefully containers don't leak.

Dear All,

Not certain how active this group is, but I'm looking for a community of moms. We are relatively new to the military. My son will commission this coming spring -- really hoping the battalion will be able to figure out some sort of in-person ceremony, but if not, does anyone have ideas/advice for how to make it special at home?

Also, I'd love any advice for how best to support my son.

I am new to the group. I feel like I just barely figured out being a midshipman mom and all of a sudden it is time for Commissioning. I do not know any other parent of military officers, which is what brought me here. Looking forward to learning from parents who have been where I am now.

Hi, I’m new to the group and my husband just started OCS on May 5th. I got a phone call from him before he surrendered his phone but he didn’t mention anything about his class number whatsoever. He just said, “This is my last call and I’m about surrender my phone. I’ll call you when I can.” I read that some people were able to receive a text message from their son/husband with their address and class numbers but he never sent me one. Is it too early for me to send letters to his address? Thanks…

Can someone share the timeline they experienced after commissioning ceremony? Will my son leave right away for any schooling he needs before assignment? is there a time lag before he leaves? How long does it usually take for him to get to his first assignment?

We have other family obligations going on for sibs, but want to support his next steps. Any help?

I posted this query in another group, but maybe this is a better place. I'll start with saying i do not know any alphabet soup terms...

My son is a senior, graduating in the spring from his university and ROTC program. I am wondering what is next after graduation, and the timeline for June onward.

Any input you can give me is appreciated.
