OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome Sandy! I think you'll like it here: ours is a great group of parents who like to encourage and share.

Wow, Darlene, that will be so nice to have both of them at the Academy at the same time!! My son went last summer and enjoyed it more than he even thought he would! One element he was suprised by was the number of places - including overseas - the other attendees were from. One young lady was American but lived overseas in Japan with her military family. Awesome experience and now the Academy has added a program for middle school students called STEM. Gotta love that place!! Congrats Leslie.

Welcome aboard Rebecca ~ and like Kathy I'd like to hear more about you & your daughter. It's not often we get someone whose daughter has achieved such a balance between their Naval career and family life. Congratulations on her return.

Yes, you are correct on the amount of the party! The wet part now is to be doused with your beer! lol Just another excuse to have a party :D

In navy tradition when officers are promoted they have whats called a wetting down party! I don't know if its with every rank, but mine did it when he became LTJG.
