MMF....Congrats on your beautiful granddaughter.  Yes, living thousands of miles away is a challenge.  But you'll figure out ways to get to where she is, lets face it we would move heavan and earth to be with them!

Again congrats.

Leslie, just as I was reading your post about the cottages, my son called and told him about them and he said "you know more than I do" - it was pretty funny!  The cottages look pretty cool!

However, not so funny, is that he is volunteering to perhaps deploy earlier than his own squadron and will be "loaned" to another squadron and then meet up with his squadron when they get over to where ever they are going - oh joy supreme!  He will find out more tomorrow - my heart is now racing and I need to go hit the wine bottle!  May be in JAX earlier than planned

Thanks all.

It has been a ruff couple of weeks since son has deployed once again..Eventho our son is stationed in SD and our daughter lives here in Northern Calif, our son was a great source of support for our daughter.  Of course he deployed two weeks ago and now she is missing her brother and his support.

She is trying to stay busy and will be traveling this week for business.  I think she gets past the crying every morning will be a high turning point.

Paymaster, I am so sorry for your daughter's loss and your family, it just brings me to tears.  I hope she has wonderful memories of their time together to help her cope during this sad time.

Ladies....It is something that some of you know about and some of you don't.  My daughter was engaged to be married.  Five days before Christmas her future husband was killed in a single car accident.  Needless to say it turned our world upside down.

I really wasn't strong enough at the time it happened to share it openly with everyone.  It has taken time to get to this point.  We are healing.

The one that struggles is our daughter.  She is greatly feeling the loss of Bobby.  It is very hard to watch her have to travel this road.  It is a long and difficult jounrey for one so young to travel. She feels that she should be planning her wedding instead of dealing with a funeral and all that goes with lossing someone you love.

Thank you all for your concern and support.

Sheila....Your more than welcome.  We are doing ok so, so, just taking it day by day.  Its a long journey and we know that.  Its only been 10 weeks, so we are still in the loss stage.

Thanks for think of us and keeping us in your prayers.

Sheila....If you are talking about the US capitol, its is a nylon flag.  It is a normal size flag that they provide (i don't remember the actual size).

If you are requesting a flag through your congress person it is only polite to invite them to the graduation (they usually don't go, but it is still a courstey to extend).

My profile pic is my pilot; his older brother; my 7-year old granddaughter; and my furry daughter at Xmas!  My granddaughter is my oldest son's who is in the San Diego area and I am actually taking my granddaughter down there mid-April to surprise him for his 30th BD (how did 30 years happen)!  I am really excited as there's been a lot of drama over the last 8 years with GD mother and I cannot believe she's actually letting me take her down there!  Thanks for asking Leslie!
