AH - give your DS a HUGE hug from all of us and have a ball!!
Glad everyone else's LOs are doing so well!!
My son deactivated his FB account before SERE - very smart thing to do.
My last day of work is upon me before Tiger Cruise. I am bouncing off the walls. It has been over a year since I saw my DS and can't wait to hug him. We are not packed, but since you can't bring much, it won't take long. The camera eqpt will do us in though. My poor dog isn't going to know what happened. She is going to a kennel that she has been to many times before and she gets on well, but this will be her first time being blind. She isn't really adapting well at home it seems, so we hope that she adapts ok there. I will be sure and post pictures as soon as I can and relate the experience to you all. I hope that everyone's loved ones stay safe in their endeavors and I'll talk to you all in about 3 weeks.
Denise: My son just completed his second PCS move in a year. Navy packed and moved him both times. On this second move, they had to wait for the house to close before they could move in, so it took them longer than it did for the furniture. They closed on the house yesterday and the movers arrived today. No problems with the movers....only with the sellers threatening to back out of the sale one week before closing...that all got settled though. Hope your son's move goes smoothly.
From our personal experience in moving cross-country....the moving company will not insure the safety of the contents of any boxes they did not pack. Knowing this, I would wait for the movers to do the packing.
Nancy,
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Our prayers are with him and with you as you go through this difficult time. Stay strong and know that he will be at peace soon.
Jayne
TNnavymom,
Thanks for the message. He put in his requests today and will learn what he gets on Thursday. He says he will be happy with anything he gets as long as it is fixed wing. lol. Time will tell. Thanks again for your perspective and congratulations on your son's hard work in tailhook. You must be excited about the upcoming winging. Great!
