on a lighter note- my mother in law was all excited because she thought Andrew was coming home (only deployed in Jan.) because the pirates and the Americans are on board and they had to get them to the US. My husband gently told her they would probably fly them off.
Thanks Leslie- I appreciate it more than you know
Thanks ladies! I really appreciate your posts....for guidance and information. This site has been an amazing resource for me.
Nancy W. - thanks for sharing! I'm so happy to see how Lynch is adapting. I think he loves all the tradition and rules...yes, he is one of those people who do better with clear rules and from someone other than mom, lol. I know it is early in his Navy career, but he LOVES it so far, even BC and hopes to make it a career. He knows that not everyone is being offered re-enlistment and he signed up for 6 years and has a little time. So, he is looking ahead and taking in all he hears from everyone. It's not like he was ever delinquent or a problem or anything.....but I have never seen him so focused on anything in his life.
Thanks so much!!! Lynch was disappointed at first. His roommate had not gotten orders, was the same rate and had graduated weeks ahead of him. He was the only one in his A school class for a little while who had any orders at all. He is fine about it now, fortunately, he adapts to change right away.
I did all this reading up on what I thought he was going to do. I just want to educate myself and be able to have a conversation with him and support him......he knows I love him. :) I'm just so thrilled to see what a perfect fit the Navy, especially Aircrew, is for him. He's watchbill coordinator for his duty section and watchbill coordinator for barracks support and seems to love the responsibility. :)
Hi Suzi: My son just reported to Tinker with AQ-7...he is NFO. He is very excited to be working on the E6...seems like a good fit. The deployments are short...average of 3 weeks. I sent you a friend request.
Hello Everyone.....I see that I'm in the wrong place, but wanted to post before I bowed out.
My son is not a pilot. He is Aircrew....AWV. He is very early in his training. He finished his A school a few weeks ago and is now waiting to leave for SERE and then on to Tinker AFB. I was wondering if any of you now much about Tinker and the E-6B Mercury??
Originally my son was told he'd go the way of the Orion and then the Poseidon. He was excited about that path. One day during A school his orders were the first to come up and found there was a change. Now, I know things can change at any time. I'm fine with that. My first husband was Navy way back.
Thanks for any thoughts.....
Mine deploys on Tuesday. This will be his fourth deployment.
They are happier when they are in the middle of stuff rather than being home and training
Hey Nancy, tell Josh congrats from the Jeffo crew. I am so glad that he decided to try for jets.
