So, did anyone have football withdrawal this weekend-cannot wait for Superbowl - GO PACK!

Have questions regarding those who have had LOs on deployment:  What have they done with either their car and/or pets during deployment.  My son is in JAX and I would love to have his dog here in Oregon, but I do not want him sending him to me - as a dog lover, I would be worried sick about him getting here.  Also, what should he do with his car - I can't believe that it would be a good thing to  leave it in storage for 6 months.

Hi All,

Leslie, I know that it has changed since my son went through.  My understanding is that you either get trained for helos, tailhook or P3's now.  Tailhook involves any plane landing on a carrier.  Mid-way through that, a decision will be made whether it is jets or A2/C2.  I don't know if those going to the A2/C2 platform go onto somewhere else but all Tailhook will start in either Kingsville or Meridian.   After Advanced Jets or Winging with jets, it will be either Hornets, Super Hornets or Growlers.  The Super Hornets and the Growlers are the same air frame essentially, but different missions.  I don't really know what is going on with the Prowler/Growler situation so someone may be able to help you out there.  But I do know that Meridian and Kingsville are the same training although I understand that Meridian has more C model T45's (ie somewhat newer)   Hope that helps some.

Patsy...Your son is in my son old squadron.  He loved being in that squadron.  They all seemed to be great people.

Congratulations, Rose!  We knew he could do it!! I am so glad he got what he wanted.  Will he have a little time off before he goes to Kingsville?  You must be very proud of him.
