Vuke's Mom, that's great news!  My daughter is in 02/947, and there is one other CTI in the same division with her.

Sharon, I am really looking forward to visiting Monterey!  It will certainly be different that Southwest Ohio!  :)

CONGRATS TO ALL NEW MOMS, WELCOME!!!!

darlene, Monterey is beautiful. I lived near there many moons ago when ex-husband was in the Army and stationed at Ft. Ord.

Nate, it will depend on what their job and rate is. Also, wait for him to tell you what his new address will be. No, don't write him at the old address, if you have, he will get it though. He will be in another area, not where BC is held. He will be able to have more contact with you which is always good. Congrats!!

What is official title for sailors once they graduate? My son stays in Great Lakes for another month then to Norfolk. Can I still send him letters to the old address?

lol ok, well, He graduated on 9/9 and is now in A school. He is undesignated and is shipping out on Oct 11 for the Iwo-Jima. Hoping to be E3 by next week, he missed it in BC due to 10 sit-ups (pulled a muscle). It's been an interesting and informative, life changing experience so far. So many doors have opened, not only for him but for us as well. Like you all, SUPER PROUD of my son. Can't express it!

He is considered "Enlisted" the moment he raises his right hand and takes the final oathe before heading off to boot camp. He takes his ASVAB, signs his papers, goes through medical a few times, signs more papers, goes through medical for a final time, takes the final oathe and he then belongs to the U. S. Navy! There is so much they go through prior to going to boot camp. Congrats all around!!! Enjoy the ride with all of us!!

Silly question...when is my son actually considered "Enlisted"? He is in A school right now and ships out in October.
