Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Suzi... he is an E-5. He's extended until the end of next year, after that, we'll have to wait and see.

Pat - my Navy son is 22 and while he has moments of adult behavior.....he still makes some wrong decisions....or some I would not agree with, but his choice to join the Navy has been one of the best he made. I'm not sure there will ever be a time when I don't want to guide my sons or make decisions for them. It's natural when we love them so much.

Cathie - what rate is your son? Does he want to make this a career?

Pat......sorry it has not been a great experience for your son. I know it's hard for you, too. Just listen to him and let him talk it out....he may change his mind before February gets here. I saw it happen both ways when we were stationed in Norfolk when first married. We even had a couple friends who got out only to re-enlist months or year later. Unfortunately.....our economy is in pretty bad shape. I'll pray for your son...
