Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I would post it on both sights and ask if anyone is going to pinning on the same date as your son. Would he feel comfortable asking someone that is attending to take a picture? Because if one of those 32 sailors ask me to take a picture for them and send it I would have done it in a heartbeat. The unfortunate thing is I know my son wouldn't have done that. As far as being rude, there is no way anyone would think it is rude. All of us are bursting with pride and I'm sure would want to help each other out in anyway.

The PIR is an awesome experience and the pinning is done in a small auditorium very casual, but military formal at the same time. The Commanding Officer in charge came around to the families there introduced himself and ask where we were from he encouraged us to take pictures, stop them when receiving their diplomas to get the picture, very relaxed. Many families were not able to attend the ceremony. I will send you a friend request, where I can share much more..... I would love to share

Judy - wow...I bet you about had heart failure when he got tagged, huh! :/ Thank God that he's home/in school safe & sound now!
Is there a special reason why he received extra MA training, or was it due ro his being deployed to Iraq? My son will be heading to the middle east as well... to not the same place, so I'm curious! :-)
Am I correct in assuming that the Navy is paying at least part of his college tuition?

Judy - so your a on is going to college while he's serving, or is he inactive right now? (Sorry, tired & confused!)
And yes, I had a nervous stomach ache Friday morning when I knew he was going to do the OC course that day... & then as I said, he actually laughed thru the pain! He's definitely a strange one...just like his mama!! lol! :-)
