Does anyone here have experience with barracks housing in Norfolk? Thanks very much in advance.

Hi,

Is there a standard time for a ship to return from deployment? My son is scheduled to be home soon, and I want to get him a flight, but I don't want to take a chance on him missing it if they don't return in time. Anyone else with these kinds of questions? Or have you dealt with this? I would love to be there if possible, but it is quite a drive, so it may not work out.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi All, Is it appropriate to see my sailor son off when the WASP deploys? This is his first deployment and would love to be there to say goodbye and watch the ship leave. Flying in from Ohio and not sure if the deployment date is firm so haven't bought tickets yet. Thanks for any feedback, go NAVY!

Hello, everyone! We were just trying to see if there are any Wasp loved ones out there who would like to join our new group? I'm apart of this group and its great but we thought it would be nice to have a group strictly for the Wasp family. The group name is in the title, so please feel free to join us. We noticed another Wasp family page, but looks like it has been inactive for quite some time. So, we wanted to create another one that's more current. We look forward to you joining! :-)

So my husband ships out in a week to Boot camp and his recruiter told us that 90% chance that we will be stationed there. I like to know how life is like on base. How is the base housing, as I rather live on base for a few years before moving off as we have a 3 year old girl. I have done some research in Norfolk as I am a Police Officer now and I have to know crime trends. I see alot of the area around the base is not so nice, lots of crime.
