Good morning,
I am thankful for the rain, because it didn't snow. It snowed "up the hill" but not here. Kirkwood got 3 ft of fresh powder. All the skiers and snowboarders are happy. I don't ski, but is good for the economy. People coming up to the AC and spending money. Lol. We also got a new project for a golf resort approved. I volunteer and helped to get it passed. Hopefully they will start building soon and all you golfers can come to the Gold Rush Ranch & Golf resort in Sutter Creek, stop by and visit me when you do. Navy Hugss ~ Vicky

Hi all, the power was out this morning because of the high winds here in the foothills. I was so happy when it came back on, so I could get online! Lol. I hope you all are safe and dry. Navy Hugss ~ Vicky

I was sharing this information with the group that has children deployed in the middle east, but is valiable information for all of us.

I know this is something that we don't usually think about, but when our children deploy overseas that would come in handy, and that is getting a US Passport.

You never know when the need arises to have one and it is something that does take a bit of time to get. But if you do have one and you need to hit the road with little notice, it is worth its price in gold.

If you do get passport and need to use it, try to make sure you leave a photocopy of your passport with someone that is trustworthy and also have the ability of either faxing you a copy or a PDF attachment.. The reason for this is if you ever loose your passport and you are out of the country, it is much easier to get a replacement if a copy can be sent the embassy

Oh Paula,
I am not upset. Please don't be upset either. I take blame for not expressing my thoughts adequately with my first post. I gave this a great deal of thought. We now have parallel groups which will serve us well. I sincerely tried to do my best. I honestly believe this will work. I don't feel that I was pushed out or anything. I am by nature a problem solver and somewhat of a nerdy engineer type - I am not good with words. Often my comments appeared stilted once I hit click on the add button. Because English is my second language, my attempt at humor will not make me a candidate to replace Connor O'Brien. Paula, I appreciated your coming forth to let us know how you feel. I have a great deal of affection for Susan, Jody and Linda who took the time and energy to drive 3 hours each way to come to my home in Oct. I was touched and honored. I had noticed that you and a number were not posting but out of respect for each individual's privacy, I don't inquire unless I know the person well (that is what my mother taught me anyway - so this is very ancient because I am 61 years old).
Just to put it out there - I was raised Presbyterian, my husband is from a prominent Morman family but his great grandfather married Catholic gal on his mission and was raised in a Unitarian church. I don't go church often but I do believe in the power of prayer.
You have not done any disservice to anyone. If I had more vision when I joined and if I knew then what I know now about doing thing on N4M, I would have started the SF Bay Area Navy Families then. Gotta go meet a client.
Love, Bea

Paula - I am one of those moms and we all have our way of writing and letting off steam ..... I belong to a few sites that I will just sit back and read what is going on and never really comment. This group is different , I feel these are my sisters and we all live close to one another and if one of my sisters needs me I am there... I am so sorry that I don;t know you to say " Hey Paula whats up ". None of us would ever offend somone on this site or any site and we are very serious when it comes to our Navy situation . My son is deployed and there are days that I feel like my heart just won;t be the same. I worry so much and then my Monica will send me a picture of her precious chicken...and then I get a call from Bea just to say hello , or Naomi saying hey lets be friends on FB and my Vicky sharing another site within N4M cuz we are both single and wow we get a greeting from one of my Corpsmen mom who is on that site too. I think its all about TLC on these sites.
I am so sorry that you hurt all week I do know how that feels too. Please know that our hearts are warm and are here for you and all....
And as my friend Vicky says
Navy Hugs,
Marsha
