For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

LOL I have a feeling the Christmas holiday will mess with it... any ideas? IF he leaves on the 24th when can he expect to PIR?

Comment by Pentwater98 on October 18, 2011 at 11:39am: Momof5 - Don't know if I could handle that or not.. I just told my other son he is going to college. That way I can talk to him when I want. He wants to go to the Naval Academy so we will see but that isn't for 3 more years..

He was a depper and not suppose to leave until February but there was an opening for special ops and he got it!!! I have one that left 2 weeks ago... I am really proud but sad...

I still miss him so much but can handle it much better now.. Can't wait for that first real letter.. I don't know how moms do this with out this website. Everyone on here are the best and without our support I think I would go crazy..

Comment by ProudNavyMom on October 17, 2011 at 8:57pm: YES!!!! I got my form letter today!!! I'm so happy, happy, happy!!!! My son is in Ship 09 Div 015 and graduates on Dec 2!!! woo hoo!!! He wrote a note on the back of the envelope. It says "Hey! I miss you! Can't wait to see you at Grad! Hope you're doing ok! Write me as much as possible! I LOVE you mom! And as this letter states I could be held back if I fail a test so I'll be on top of my studying!! I LOVE you and Miss you Alot! Take Care!"

I'm so happy right now. I'm getting all the cards and letters that I have so far ready to put in the mail first thing tomorrow morning!!! YIPEE!!!!
