Thank you John and Yvonne-I just saw your post. That was so sweet of you! Prayers are always greatly appreciated. They are what get me through life! This season of life is just part of God's plan!
coley423,
I read your post and can understand your sadness about your son's room. I just want you to know that I will be praying for you and your husband in this decision. Not only about his room but your peace of mind as your son is in Bootcamp. He is spreading his wings, stepping into adulthood and that can be a difficult time for you. But stay focus in encouraging him and I also pray that the Lord will encourage you and walk with you through this time. :)
Showers of blessings to you!
Yvonne
Ugh...this sucks! My husband wants to turn my son's room into his office. He decided spur of the moment to clean out his room tonight-he's only been gone 10 days! I'm not ready but I know it has to be done...time to go to bed...glad it's friday tomorrow! I got some exercise in for sure tonight running up and down the stairs, doing laundry and other things. kept my mind busy...but made me sad too!
I am looking forward to getting to know other Navy moms with sons and daughters in OS rate. It's been 7 days since my son Seth arrived at boot camp. I am going to join our local VFW chapter and get involved in their auxiliary program. I thought this would be a great way to get to keep me busy and give back while Seth is enlisted. Any advise you OS Navy Moms have to give me would be greatly appreciated.
Ladies,
Are any of your sailors stationed here in Virginia Beach/Norfolk?
My husband and I invite sailors over on the weekends to our home to give them a place to hang out. We feed them, play board games, watch movies, go to outdoor activities going on in the area, etc. Check out our page on this site to find out more about us. :)

My daughter graduated BC in July 2018 then went to S A School. She was there for about 2-3 before she actually started A School, from what I understood they had to wait for a full class. Once she started I think OS A School was 6-8 weeks, can't remember exact time. Once she completed A School she came home then went to ship.
My husband has recently graduated bootcamp (3/15/19) and is staying in Great lakes for A school as an OS. He's been there for almost 2 weeks now and hasn't started school yet. Does anyone else have a sailor with the same situation?
My son recently graduated on 1/18/19 and was in division 071. It was amazing to see how he has grown since going to boot camp. Luckily he had some friends from boot camp who were stayin in GL for OS school too.
