For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ladies, just to let you know in past years, many of the SRs called home within the few days BEFORE Christmas Day....so be sure to just keep those phones close at all times! If someone receives a call from their SR, please post on here right away which division is calling!

It is not guaranteed... but hoped for :-).
The reason is that there are only two rooms with phone banks (and some computers- which cost to use). There are 4000+ to 7000+ Recruits/Sailors at RTC at any given time...so just not enough time to get everyone in.
Some may get to call so keep your phone handy. Be hopeful, but make sure you enjoy the Day with loved ones at home :-)

mindyeus - He will have daytime Liberty PIR day, after attaching to TSC GL (Training Support Center Great Lakes), Saturday and Sunday. INDOC (indoctrination) takes about 3-5 hours on Friday directly after PIR and then he will be released for Liberty

Another question...our SR was told by his recruiter that his A school would be in Pensecola, but when he called he said he was now told in GL...how much liberty do they get if their A school is in GL after the PIR ceremony?

Hello...wondering what the 900 Division means. When our SR called, I couldn't understand what he was saying...can someone elaborate?
