For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Still awaiting phone call from ship 02 div 911 received letters he sounded good but just need to hear his voice. At mass today I prayed for each and every recruit and especially mine that they are all putting their best foot forward and becoming sailors!

We heard from our son yesterday too. What a surprise. It was very good to hear from him. He said he wanted us to send him news from home so I guess we will have to start clipping out interstin articles and sports scores.

My son also left Dec 1st. Got the PIR letter and am eagerly waiting to receive a letter from him (though he isn't much for writing, lol).

So glad to see the moms are getting their letters...now some of us just have await the phone call. @Melane - my son also is in Ship 02 Div 911...we received our letter last Wednesday. Actually it was 3 letters in one envelope. He didn't date them...

Melanie: Now that his division is allowed to write, he can mail out letters each Monday (collected on Sunday) and will receive mail M-F.

My son is ship 02 DIV 911, no call yet but I did receive a letter. He said all is well and the food is really good. He said things are very systematic (which he likes). He said they don't get much time to write, so he kept it short.
It was nice to have gotten a little piece of hope, that he is doing well.

Got a bonus call from my SR tonight. Didn't expect one at all and he was worried we wouldn't pick up the phone. But I know that 847 exchange and no way I was not answering! He sounded good but a little tired. He said they haven't started the hard training yet. He is div 070. He said food is good and he is eating vegetables and fruit. He rarely ate either - Thank you U.S. Navy for making my SR a healthy eater!!!!!
