~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Sorry, I meant A school is 14 weeks. This is what happens when you type faster then what you brain could think. Sitting all day in a wrestling tournament really drains you mentally.
I'm just completed the week's laundry and off to pack!!! So excited! K
I did its fine .......... have a nice nite everyone ...... not long now for PIR day!! Yippie @seeing my son..........nite all.
Kathy, if your SR didn't order photos, you can order in the NEX after PIR (your sailor will be with you in there).
On ordering The Keel: It is included for free in PKG A if that is the photo pkg ordered by the SR. They only produce a certain number of The Keels per PIR group. My son didn't order the pkg with The Keel and when I tried to order it a week after PIR, it was too late. I'm not sure how much it is separately. But if you look in the PAGES section to the right and above (under MEMBERS photo box), there is a discussion on piks (Photos/Keel/DVD...).
Michele: Yep, you are right. We can't put dates on here about BattleStations, so can you click on the "x" in your post box please and delete? Thanks! N4Moms rules (which came from RTC).
Wait....WHAT? Bootcamp is 14 weeks for him? Never heard of that! Maybe he meant that after bootcamp, he will go over the GL A School for a 4 week program before heading out to his next school? Never heard of anyone having a 14 weeks bootcamp before, have any of the other N4Moms veterans? My son was there over 10 weeks but that was because of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, MLK holidays and a week setback for him. 14 weeks of bootcamp, unless there is an injury or illness, sounds a bit long! Be sure to post more info when you get it.
Nothing like coming home from sitting in a wrestling tournament all day long and getting a call from my son! I thought I was going to have to pull off the road and let someone else drive! He called at the perfect time, cause the signal where we were was not all that great. He tried to explain to me about signing a new contract and why boot camp was 14 weeks instead of 9, but he will have to do that again later. Did not compute as I was multi-tasking.
SRmomship - Saw your friend request and responded thought don't see your msg. Kathy
Kathy...I know that my daughter decided 120 bucks for photos was too much. Which is fine by me. She can get some taken later with a better haircut and makeup:) She did order the Division photo. The Keel is kind of like a yearbook for bootcamp. I have seen one and it is very cool, but not sure how much it is. It could be that it can also be purchased or ordered after PIR. I also believe that DVDs of PIR can be purchased as well. Messaged you about Battle Stations.
