Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Having been a group admin on N4M for a really long time, the ladies have already figured out the pattern of the way everything works. Just go here and read lemonelephants post. It will all make sense...

Do you mean a single division is broken into the three types, so all types are in one division? Or do you mean a single division is only one of the three types? If it's the latter, how do we figure out what type of division is 912?

Comment by KatsMom on December 25, 2012 at 10:49pm: Merry Christmas, everyone! Was hoping for a call today, but it wasn't so bad thinking that they are all enjoying a little free time and a good dinner. Trying to get a turn at the phone may have made for a stressful day for them.

@Heidi, my daughter was in Drill through high school, so that's probably why she's in 900 division.

- Triple Threat (Band, Choir & Drill team),

- Staff - Staff are the AROC & RPOC (the guys that call the commands) Master at Arms, Side-boys rail guards, door guards, body snatchers (sailors walking isles of the performance at PIR to catch sailors who may feel faint from standing too long)

- State Flags - This includes the Color Guard (those that carry in the U.S. Flag, Navy Flag & Rifles) as well as a Drum-line.
