My son left 1/8 from Hickory, NC. When I received his clothes that was hard. His letter was even harder but a relief also to know that he was doing ok and that he said it wasn't that bad. He said that is was just cold. I was glad to write to him. I look forward to hearing from him. I check the mail everyday with hopes of a letter from him. Looking forward to seeing him soon. : )
Our son left on 1/9 from Florida! We received the packet with a short letter last week, but still no phone call or another letter yet! I need to hear his voice lol!
Hi my son is in this same divisioin. He said his bunk mate from NC long shot but you never know they be bunk mates. We are from Washington state. My son so far said that it is going well. I am really looking forward to seeing him on 3/2. Are you making it to graduation? So far for communication we have had the I made it safe call, an unexpected call last Wednessday, the form letter and now another letter yesterday. Have you had about the same? I was surprised to hear that they started with 80 and are down to 71 in thier division. My son left 1/5/11 and was there for 4 days just waiting for other SR to arrive,.
I would like to "close" or delete this discussion as it is less active of the two...it is better to only have one discussion per division. Will that be all right Collette? I can copy all of the posts over to the other group.
If you haven't checked out the new encouragement questionnaire in the discussions be sure and check it out. It is funny and has a great paragraph of encouragement for battle stations. This is the one I made for my daughter, you may have to tweak it a little since my Sailor is a girl. I hope you all like it :-)
