Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 109 and 110.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in Div 109, we didn't recieve any letters yet this week. Normally they come on Wednesday's so we are all a little bummed out about it. Did anyone else get letters this week? I really don't get to ever talk to him, usually he calls his GF so the last time I spoke with him was the 2nd. My kids and I are staying at the Ramada for PIR. I didn't realize that he wouldn't be able to call for three weeks!

My daughter is in 109 and we received several letters for the family from her today.  I'm sure you will receive yours tomorrow.  You should change to another hotel.  I heard bad things about their rooms smelling bad and all.  The Holiday Inn Express Waukegan has a hot breakfast and is a new hotel.  You should check them out.

I will thanks!

Hello All,

Did anyone else get a call from their SRs yesterday. I got a surprise call from my SR. It made my day! She is in Div 110, she mentioned their division earned a flag for passing inspection, so their RDCs approved a 20 min call home. As far as letters, we also recieved two letters from her yesterday. We usually get her letters on thursdays and we realized it is always one week behind. She recieved my valentine card on time as well. I hope no one panics, but she did mention that if their division don't get it together they all could be ASMO'd (set back) as a group. I hope that doesn't happen.

Sending virtual well wishers to all, hang in there our SRs are almost done!

B.T.W. I called Sarge to discuss PIR date transportation needs for me and my mother and he is very helpful and informative. He is great! I've already arranged a pick-up/drop of arrangment with him.

I did not get a phone call from my daughter! Now I'm bummed! I must have checked my phone a half a dozen times to see if I inadvertently missed a call. I hope everything's ok with her. I did come home from work today though to find 5 letters from her! She sounds good but is concerned as well about her divisions performance.

Yayyyy!!  I got 4 letters in 1 envelope yesterday!!  So glad you got oodles to read too!!  So, is you hubby making up Valentine's with you?  It IS weird that if they earned a flag, but not all the SRs in the division got to call?

Same from my SR, she is afraid the whole division will get set back.  They haven't earned any flags yet and other divisions that came in after them have already earned flags.  Yikes!!   All my friends at church and Facebook are praying for them~~

Haha, yes Cat he is making up Valentines day! We had a nice dinner out tonight but he has to turn around and leave again on Sunday. :( New job, lots of travel.
It was so nice to get all the letters from her. They all came in one envelope like yours.
My daughter is in 110. We received letters Thursday but no calls yesterday. She said the same as some people, they really need to pull together. Other than the " problem girls" she sounded better in her letters. Thank goodness because the last phone call broke my heart!
Tamraw, My boy is in Div 109 also. I got a letter yesterday but no calls this week. some have said they cant call for 3 weeks, but I don't know where that info originated. My son is IT going to Pensacola, is yours also? Where are you staying for PIR?

Yes he is going to Pensacola also. He is actually in reserves and was told he could possibly come home before he left for Pensacola but I am beginning to highly doubt what the recruiter told him. We are staying at the Ramada, I've heard good and bad things about them, it's 25 cheaper than the Holiday Inn, I called there this am and we are trying to save money for a trip to Pensacola in May! I am hoping we have letters today!

Tamraw, is he reserve or reserve FTS? MY daughter is reserve FTS, also known as active duty reserves. What this means is she is full time support for the reserve bases. From what I understand they tend to stay where they are stationed for longer periods and don't have to deploy unless they volunteer.
Hi Kelso12, my SR is FTS also. However, his recruiter never told him this. My SR learned of it at bc. I then emailed the recruiter who explained it to me. At that time I knew more about it than my SR. I copied the recruiters explanation into a letter to my SR. Still not sure about all the implications of it as far as duty stations. If you know more, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.
