Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm sure that will be OK.  Not sure if there is a Wal-Mart close to you but that's where I bought yellow fleece for my scarfs.  I could mail you some iron's if you think you would get it in time. I've mailed one to another mom. 

Sheila , I haven't been online much, and I'm still stuck @ work, but wanted to thank you so much for the anchor! You are so wonderful and I can't wait to meet you!

You are very welcome.  I hope it works for you.  I use that material with my heat press. But called and got instructions for a home iron. Let me know how it works.  And I'm looking forward to meeting you also.

Ok, since I don't have anywhere to get the iron on's.... I am making buttons! Going to make 2. One will have the anchor and 11/83 and 3/9/12 and the other one I am going to put my boys picture on it! Going to attempt these Friday! I will try to post a picture if they turn out!. If I can figure out HOW to post one anyway! I also found WHITE scarves and going to dye them yellow!

NINE more days!!!

We received a letter from the department of the Navy! Aaron has been selected to receive and award! We have to be at the visitors center by 7:15. We will be instructed on what we are to do and will be seated in a certain section. We then go to a reception after PIR! WE ARE SO PROUD AND EXCITED!

CONGRATULATIONS, LESLIE!! I am so happy for you and proud of your son! What a wonderful accomplishment! I'm sure you are beaming.

OMG, YES! We have been blessed with two WONDERFUL boys! It is awesome! When you hear the name Aaron Vickers, THAT"S US! GO 83!

We are leaving today! I pray everyone has safe travels and good weather. Ours is a 19 hr drive.............. HOOYAH 11/83!!!

Be careful on the road, Leslie! I look forward to meeting you on Thursday night or Friday!! Again, congratulations to your son!
