I ordered our division shirts today, and the lady called me to confirm my order and let me know that if you are ordering grey t-shirts, they will probably not be back in time for graduation.  They have to send off for the grey to be printed, and they still have to wait for the flags to be designed and submitted to them.  They are located in Texas, and she said they would be mailing them about one week before graduation.  Just FYI in case anyone was interested.

Does anyone know the color for division 088?
Comment by diannep on February 16, 2012 at 1:49pm

Yes, it is a multicolored ribbon, goes on horizontally.  Small.

Thank you MSmom...... I was a little clueless when she said pin...lol

Comment by MSmom on February 16, 2012 at 12:26pm
Micki. I think what she is referring to is a ribbon. You pin it on the front left side of you dress uniform. All sailors in boot camp right now receive a ribbon because they joined during a time of war.

Hi All,

Good Morning!

When my daughter call Tuesday she was so excited and was just rambling on...it was great! However, I do have a question...she said she recieved her first pin and I said "oh, that is wonderful" but I really do not know what a pin is.....any help on this? I am wondering what it would be for and is this something you wear on the front left side of your uniform?

Thanks!

Micki

Here's a quick rundown of the Meet and Greets:

Ramada:

6-8 pm at the Ramada.

Finger foods – Chips and salsa, veggies and dip, egg rolls, meatballs, maybe another and it could change. (This is what they had when I went. Sarge was not doing a Meet and Greet then)

Bar – or you can bring in your own soft drink or water. Those staying at the Ramada get a voucher for to free drinks.

Hostess provides a name tag and will come in and greet everyone and ask if anyone would like to speak.

Sarge:

5-10 pm at the Sundance Saloon.

FREE transportation from Springhill Suites, Marriot Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crossland. All other local hotels for a modest fee.

Guest Speaker from the Base (when available) to provide info on where to eat, things to do, how to save $$.

FREE food starting at 7 PM….they also have a menu if you want to order something.

Sarge has lived in the area for over 30 years and knows it well.

Sarge has arranged with his friend Nick at Trattoria-Pomigliano in Libertyville for a FREE meal – ANYTHING they want – for your Sailor.

There is a DJ.

Plus, Sarge goes above and beyond the “call of duty” to help Sailors and their families. (He is the “go to” guy for Taxi (shuttle) service. Prices are great and again does more than he has too!)

Flanagan’s:

5-9 PM at Flanagan’s.

Was the original Meet and Greet for Navy 4 Moms years ago, and hoping to continue the tradition for years to come.

Have set up a room specifically for the meet and greet.

Free appetizer buffet and music.

They are also a full service restaurant.

Karaoke starting at 8:30pm

You will also receive a $10 gift certificate for your graduate to have a meal of their choice (steaks and seafood included) after graduation. They are allowing the parents to use their sailors $10 gift certificate even on Thursday (we are more than happy to give them another one for Friday after graduation). You can receive the gift certificate at the restaurant at the Meet & Greet or ask your hotel receptionist for one (Red Carpet Inn, Day's Inn, Sleep Inn, Navy Lodge, Great Lakes Motel, and participating Holiday Inn, Marriott, Residence Inn in the Great Lakes, North Chicago and Waukegan area).

They are located 2 minute drive from the Navy base and in walking distance of Red Carpet Inn, Day's Inn, Great Lakes Motel, and Sleep Inn and a quick 5 minute drive from Fountain Square (Waukegan) hotels.
