OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. LSJ126 - Is the comment you copied and pasted about this PIR Group specifically or was it on a BLOG somewhere else on this site?

Comment by diannep on February 12, 2012 at 4:08pm

Ladies:  Just an additional "heads up."  I don't know if it was on this PIR page or another, but I know that some were getting a little careless when posting in the discussion groups above--using some last names of SRs and RDCs.  Please remember...we do not use any names for the SRs or for the RDCs.  If your SR happens to mention names in their letters, please do not use them on this site.  It is ok to private message other ladies on here when your SR is friends with one of their SRs and you are trying to connect.  You can use the SR names in the private message.  But no names on these boards, please.

Comment by diannep on February 12, 2012 at 4:05pm

ChipsAhoy:  Yes, they have very limited space to store things.  That is why we suggest that any piks you send...scan them on a piece of paper, collage style, and send it.  Better if you can put it on the back of a letter.  Also, that is why some send the larger manilla envelope, so that their SRs can send home letters for safekeeping.

I don't want anyone to get paranoid about using this site---it is such a great resource for so many.  But like LSJ said, it is better to discuss specifics re: your SR by private message...but as far as what they are doing at a point in time (schedule), flags they earn, etc and general info about the food, etc...that is fine.  More specific than that shouldn't be on FB or on this site, at least not on the public boards here.  Usually the ladies are good about adhering to that.  I know that in previous groups, some ladies would post that their SRs were complaining about "certain aged SRs" causing problems for all...and that would upset some of the ladies, of course.  Just remember that if your SR says that they aren't coming together as a division, etc...that they WILL get it together.  Some divisions are harder to get to this point than others.  The RDCs will warn them, threaten them, etc...but eventually, these same RDCs are quite proud of their divisions on "capping day" and PIR day.  So keep encouraging your SRs if you get info like this from them...to do their best, help those who are struggling a bit, and know that they will get it together!

no doubt :)

Comment by LSJ126 on February 12, 2012 at 3:18pm

I completely understand, that's all I ask.  It obviously is different for every division, but it is better to be safe!  Thank you.

LJS126 - Thank you..... I had no idea. There is no way I would want any SR's to get in trouble by what we post. Sometimes we just get so excited and can't help what we type, but from now on, I am sure we will all be more careful.

Have a great day!!

Also, Facebook is not the issue it is all coming from what is seen on this blog

Comment by LSJ126 on February 12, 2012 at 2:55pm

All I am going to say is we should not be putting on here who is passing and failing tests, I was warned we are not supposed to be discussing this information with one another maybe some are harder on others than you would think just because of a post on a website, you'd be surprised.  Let's play it safe.  That doesn't mean you shouldn't tell us how your SR is doing it's just the specifics as to why they are doing good or bad or missing calls and things like that.

OK Ladies. Quick question. Husband keeps telling me not to send anything because he doesn't have anywhere to keep it. Is he talking about like don't send puppies and furniture or does he mean he has to throw away everything I send?

Just curious.

LSJ did something happen that you have heard about a recruit getting in trouble for something on this PIR group page? I sure hope not.  I didn't see any posts that should cause anyone to get into any trouble. And I don't want to see the moms, wives etc afraid to post comments here. They don't usually get in trouble unless someone says something mean or rude about an RDC. It is true that the RDC do sometimes read the posts on here and also on FaceBook and the recruits may get hassled a little but not in real trouble. My daughter's RDC saw my pics on here and all he said to her was "do you miss you jeep and pink sunglasses?" It totally confused her because she had no idea how he knew anything about a jeep and pink sunglasses. But he wasn't mean and she didn't get into trouble. If the RDC wants to give them IT or yell at them they will use whatever is available to do it, not just a post on this site.

It is okay to post comments about letters and phone calls on here just don't get too specific or repeat any complaints about the RDC's :-)
