Got my first phone call tonight. WOOOO HOOO I am so happy right now. She was sick but really sounded all growny. I miss my little girl.

Got a Call One hour ago!!!
Comment by diannep on February 11, 2012 at 9:26pm

When my son was there, his phone card actually ran out in the middle of his call...he bought one quickly at the NEX and called back within a couple of minutes.  :-)

Sara:  Could she have sent it to anyone other than you?  They can only send out one.  I would write her and ask if she sent it to you.  Hoping that she did and it is just late arriving.

Makes perfect sense Demetris! Thanks!

A few others in 918 got to call too... but like Demetris said...it may have been a special call. I have heard of some individual ones granted by the RDC's...one for having shoes shinier than the RDC's etc. LOL

Mine got his at the beginning of Week 3, his was the "second" division in the order and they had also done well on their first Academic Test.

Comment by Demetris on February 11, 2012 at 8:40pm

They are allowed to purchase phone cards at the NEX prior to phone calls if needed.  Actually most RDCs schedule a NEX run in conjunction with their scheduled phone calls because most recruits will need to pick up items around this time.

Comment by Demetris on February 11, 2012 at 8:36pm

My daughter is in division 918. She called last night but it may have been a "special call".  She stated that they had just finished the 1st phase of training and like I mentioned earlier the 1st phone call is usually on the training schedule during the 3rd week.

Now with that being said the beginning of the training group will probably be scheduled to call home first. So that should be 087/088 (brother/sister divisions). Then 089/090 and so on and so forth.  The 800/900 divisions will fall within that schedule somewhere it is just hard to say when because these are "special divisions" it is really no way to tell when the finished filling up (in the beginning of the training group or near the end). Hope that makes sense...

Just know this....the whole training group CANNOT fit into the phone center at once. There is room for MAYBE 2 divisions at a time but RDCs don't really like to take 2 divisions at once.
