I received the letter yesterday !!!!!  Ship 11 Div 106 March 30th!!!  I looked in the mailbox thinking its too early but I will look anyway and there it was I was so happy I immediately wrote a letter and ran it right to the post office, I texted everyone the address and last night we all wrote more letters.  It has been a week and two days now and I don't understand it but I feel like he has been gone forever...He was in college for four years so I don't get it..I did not worry about him this way then.(.I guess because his big brother was there).  I am so happy to be on this next part of the journey.  I feel like we are taking baby steps...I am here call...box,  form letter, and the crazy part is that this is only DAY 9 I am too old for this! haha

So happy you got a letter this soon, It sure does help and makes your heart feel all warm and fuzzy. I am happy for you :-)

Hello, Just checking in with you.  You are the only other person I have found that has a loved one in Ship 11 Division 106!  Have you found any others?  I know there are more than 2 in that division!

I too received the form letter last Tuesday.  There was no personal note on it but luckily I found a quick hello my son sent us on the attached brochure!  It seems like he's in good spirits.  Can't wait to see him.

I've read that there will be meet & greets the evening before PIR.  This sounds like fun.  I've also read about scarfs & ribbons. Do you know anything about these items?

I live in Canyon Country, CA  Where are you?

Take care

Hi My name is Peggy, I am so happy to see you here...I was thinking that maybe I was in the wrong place..I keep looking for another link thinking I am missing something...I just ran to the pamplet to see if Danny wrote anything on it but he didnt...oh well...i will hear from him when i hear from him...I live in New Jersey...How old is your son?

Good morning Peggy, great to hear from you!

My son is 21 years old (my 1st child) and left here on 2/2.  We've only received the phone call when he arrived & the form letter.  I've written him bunches!  Looking for daily & can't wait for his first letter!

I've read many comments about ribbons & scarfs but do not know much about this.  Trying to find out if moms of divisions or ships are wearing a certain color?  Also, I've read about three local (to the base) hotels or restaurants offering meet & greets.  This sounds like fun & I would love to meet you & other families of our SRs.  Where is the rest of  11/106??

Enjoy your Saturday,

Martine

Danny is my second son , I have a 24 yr old son and an 11 yr old son and a 16 yr old daughter...thats got to be really hard..your first son...My first son went off to college four yrs then 2 more yrs and now he is trying to get into a phd program working and living in tennessee hopefully he will get in to the University there..gone from here for over 7 yrs now...Danny went to college for 4 yrs too but this is different...I still have two at home to keep me focused here but my mind is constantly on danny...i pray this will change when he completes bootcamp, then I get back to being the mom of a teenage girl...i dont know which is worse..haha..I guess the other moms did not get the form letter yet and we will be hearing from hundreds of them all at once next week...thats the only explanation I can think of...The scarfs and ribbons are made by Lala ribbon queen pir ribbons you just need to send her a message and your email and she send the info and you order it and everyone getting them love them..

Hello...our son is also on Ship 11 Div 106.  So happy to find this site!  We also are taking baby steps...sent him off, got the quick phone call, received The Box, then the form letter with address.  We, as well as his girlfriend, were so happy to get that!  I have sent a couple cards, and will continue to send out a letter every couple of days.  Greatly looking forward to March 30!!  It's hard not knowing how he is doing; am so anxious to hear from him.  Hope you all are doing well...take care and hope to see more from all of you.

Hi Sherry!!  So happy to have another Mom here!!  Tell his girlfriend there is a group for girlfriends on here..I am sure she would love to talk to the other girls..if she didnt find it already...Well there is no mail for the next two days so I guess I will clean my house and keep busy...ugh!  I sure am looking forward to that first letter!!

We recieved the form letter. Ship 11 Division 106. Son graduating March 30. He shipped out on 2/2 from near Houston, Tx. Going to be a Navy Nuke. So proud of the boy. Wrote him a letter and sent it out the next day. Plan on writing him every other day. He is my oldest and I have two girls at home.Hard to see him go but I know he will be learning so much. So excited about the graduation on the 30th. Hoping he will have more than just a few hours to visit with us but by the sounds of things, he will only have a few hours and probably fly out the next morning for South Carolina. He is not a writer, so I hope I will see a letter from him while in bootcamp.

So glad you are here with us!!!!  My son is not a writer either a man of few words so I cant imagine what his letter will be like..and I hope we get to spend some time with him too just hanging out and hearing all about bootcamp ..This is so exciting another day almost done ... another day closer to graduation day!!   I want to fast forward a little to the day I can post that I got a letter...that I am on my way to graduation, i want to look back and remember when...I feel like the last two weeks took forever to go by...the longest two weeks of my life for sure!!!!!

Hello 11/106 Moms: Peggy, Sherry & Vickils!  Wow, there are 4 of us now!!  This makes me feel better.  First I was anxious because I had not received anything from my son, but then finally that form letter arrived & I at least had an address!  Then I was anxious because I have read a lot out there about all the people getting to know one another from their loved ones' divisions, & I couldn't find anyone.  So, thank you :)

I hope you are all well.

Well, two days now without mail.  Is it just me or have these two days just dragged by?!

I don't know if you ladies have read about a blue candle event that will be taking place on May 8th.  When I read this I really liked the idea and have been keeping a blue flame less candle lit at night at my son's bedroom window.  I miss him.

A member told me that ship 11 division 105 trains/exercises with our boys.  It would be great to hear from some of these family members as well.

Take care until next time...

Check out my picture.  :)    He's always been a handsome sailor!  Love my son, can't wait for that hug!!

GO NAVY!
