OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I heard they are awake until 9:30pm cst. All most there. They have access to energy drinks at this point and candy. It going to feel wonderful to get so sleep, but they might have trouble falling asleep...too much excitement!

Christopher's mom, my son said div 139 did exceptionally well, got special honors and everyone passed. I think Catmomma is right. Tomorrow they can call again just about an anything. I am so sorry you have not received your call yet, but rest assured all is well.
P.s. Do I need to write another note for you? Happy to do so!

Thank you Ladies!  It has been a pleasure riding along this journey with you.  I wish the very best for you and your SR on your continued journeys ahead!  Our flight leaves tomorrow for Chicago. See you at the Meet & Greet!

christophersMom - You can rest assured that your son passed - my son said that the whole Div 139 passed. If you haven't gotten a call yet, it could be because your son has watch duty.  My son has missed the group time for phone calls when he had watch.

Christopher mom our son said they are letting then go to bed a cpl hrs early tonight. I know our son is really tired but he also has to get up at 3:30am for watch. He said they also got pizza tonight(Div 142)! I know alot of them enjoyed that.

Congrats to all the 2014 pir class of 4/11!! Thankful for all of them serving this GREAT country! So proud that they have accomplished an amazing challenge and have bright futures ahead. On a personal note my son circled back so we got 2 calls today!! Make my heart feel so good that even though he is all grown up now, he still loves us enough to give up time hanging out w friends and celebrating his accomplishments w his shipmates to make a second call home so his needy parents can hear his voice. Just such a unselfish thing to do. He did say the gas chamber was the worst experience of his life:) I guess all the groundings werent so bad after all;) ♥ N4M!

I heard from my Sailor(!!) earlier today (Div 140) and he was exhausted but excited. All SRs in 140 that took the Battle Stations test yesterday passed!! Congratulations to our new Sailors. He also told me that all SRs that are scheduled for PIR Friday were done with the testing and that be no more Battle Station tests this week. So I assume all divisions for this weeks PIR are now done.
