Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Christopher's mom- thanks for the update on the Captain's cup. Now that the other div are online, we will be getting more intel!
About work, I don' t know how I am going to do it but I too have a busy week with meetings, training and some " hot issues" to address. I have written a note for you to take to your manager... Good luck with that!

My info came from the RTC FB page, Vrybzymom. It is from 2012....I'm a "google queen" and always check all sources, but knew about Ricky Heaven from when my son was at Bootcamp. Here's the link to the info I just posted:

christophersMom is correct on Ricky Heaven! It is a treat when they are "rewarded" a visit there.
" An area in the RTC NEX which has games, fast food, internet access and telephones. Toward the end of boot camp, divisions might be awarded time in Ricky Heaven."

I say we skip work!!! Honestly, I am struggling in the attention department.
I got a letter from my son yesterday, and I was surprised by how little information he seems to have. We seems to have a better idea of how the Div is doing overall. It could be he is like his mom who is very cautious to verify information before accepting it.
Great to have you on our ship!
