~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Winski, So sorry to hear about your dog... I know what a deep loss one feels when they loose a beloved pet. My thoughts are with you.
Win, so sorry to hear about your dog< I know your SR's heart will be hurting.
NavyMom: I acquired a grand dog also when my former sailor son moved back home....with dog in tow that he got when living in TX....and then when he moved to an apt that allowed no pets, "grand dog" became a permanent fixture here (in addition to my 2 other dogs). My lap is quite crowded at night with my 85 lb Lab and my 25 lb grand dog sharing space! Thankfully, my 75 lb other dog is content to stay on the sofa by himself! :-)
CatMom: Such a touching story...my mom had an outside cat that took up with them years ago....stayed on their screened patio. She fed her and talked to her, but with my dad's allergies, they couldn't let her inside. A few days before I found her dead on their patio, she also kept trying to come in. My mom told me at that time that she didn't think she was well....something seemed wrong. But since she was an outside cat, they didn't know that much about her. When they went out of town and I went over to feed/check on her, I found her dead. Mom always felt guilty about that...that she didn't let her in and pet her in her end time---but Mom seemed shocked that she died since she didn't seem to be sick like that. She just couldn't let her in (they are in their 80s and Dad has Alzheimers). So glad that you had your arms around yours when she went to heaven!
Happy Easter everyone!
Winski,
So sorry about Bandit. My, the vet's diagnosis on tiime was not very accurate, but at least you knew Bandit's time was limited and was there for him. One of my cats died in my arms last year and I was so glad to be there giving her a warm lap and petting her when she drifted off. She was an outside stray cat, so when she wanted to come inside a few days before, it was unusual. So glad our pets choose us to be in their lives and so appreciate the unconditional love they give us!!
Hooray for your son's reward time at Ricky Heaven!!
Awe I'm so sorry Winski. I know you had very little time to mentally prepare for this just finding out not that long ago :-( I'm glad your dog wasn't alone when he died but instead in your loving arms.
That's great that you heard from your son and their division is doing so well. I'm actually jealous of your son's group and wish my husband’s group was getting the royal treatment. You have a lot to be proud of :-)
Take care and try to have a good weekend.
Winski. So sorry to hear about your pet. It isn't easy losing a pet. They become part of the family. My son always asks about his dog which is now my "grand dog" and living with me. I got custody while he is in the Navy. I would love to have you do a name tag for my family and me. Thank you for offering. I will email you . My son called too and said the same thing about the treats they received. He seemed thrilled. He said they had a three hour break but when they were on the call someone came and said they had to go so I don't know what happened. I am glad that they are doing well enough to get a treat.
