OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yep, ReidsMomKathy!  Have lots of Kleenex....your tears will be happy ones, but they may be flowing!  Mine sure were!

Yep, normal routine on Easter Day.  Of course, they can attend church that day, as they always can on Sundays.

Good morning Navy Moms!  Thank you Dianne!

In 14 days we'll be sitting in bleachers, probably teary-eyed and definitely bursting with pride, right?  Hold on to that thought today!

Good Morning & Good Friday!  Do you know if the recruits will have any extra personal time for Easter?   Hoping Div 145 will be allowed phone calls today.

Ok, ladies who requested BattleStations dates.  I have friend requested the info back to you so please read it before hitting ACCEPT.  No need to hit ACCEPT unless you need to ask me something else, then feel free.  Once you hit ACCEPT, the info I sent disappears so read that first.  I got one friend request with no division date, so I accepted that one.

Good Morning to all of you!

Hi Winski,

I talked to Sarge, he said to have someone at the table closest to the door with a division sign, blank name tags and pens, so that all parents/relatives can sign their name tag with the division, name and username.

 diannep.... THANK YOU!!!

She called today.  It was great to hear from her.  She sounded so grown.  A bittersweet moment for this momma.  Boy, what a ride this is!!! Roller coaster ride.....  We had such a matter of fact talk, easy, no heartache, she spoke of what is going really well for her and the division.  She spoke of getting in trouble..... but accepted responsibility.  It's funny...its not that I want her sad and homesick, but my baby is growing into in independent woman.  It this what we pray for all their lives isn't it?  But oh how it hurts to let them go....but ...oh my!!! so much pride.

I am so thankful for this wonderful place where I can draw information and share this kinship with all the loved ones~

I have some BattleStations dates for this group.  Friend request me with your division number in the "message" part of the request, and I will friend request you back with the info.  Don't hit ACCEPT or my info to you goes away!  If you have more questions after you read my info, please feel free to hit ACCEPT and message me then.
