OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi everyone, the time is drawing near when you will be in the PIR hall watching those big doors open for the first time. You will see those marching feet that are so eager to Pass in Review for all of you. This feeling that you are about to experience is one that you will never forget. I am so glad I was able to be here to help you all through this journey and I feel very fortunate to be able to call so many of you my friends. I wish you all and especially your Sailors all the luck, love and happiness that life has to offer. If you ever find yourself with any questions or just needing someone to talk to I will always be here for you. I am only a message or phone call away. If you don't already have my number just message me and I will share it with you. Please travel safely and have a wonderful time with your Sailors. Fair Winds and Following Seas ♥

8 weeks ago we said our goodbye's to our sons & daughters.  They have all been pushed physically mentally and emotionally on their journey to become Sailors.  I have a tremendous amount of pride and respect for each and everyone of them.  May God bless them and keep them safe as they serve this fine country.

Safe travels to all the families as they are heading to GL, I look forward to meeting many of you and sharing in your joy.
