OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Just landed in Chicago O'Hare. Driving to residence inn now. I am so thankful to be here. The weather is drizzly now, but not bad. Hopefully we will get to Waukegan very soon and without any difficulty.

Remember:  Sarge's MeetandGreet is combined with Ramada's tonight!  Please join them if you have made it to GL!  Prayers for those still trying to get there!

Flight delayed in SLC. Boo hoo. We won't get to Chicago till 11 tonight. How's the weather there right now.

Be Safe Everyone! Praying for you all! Right now it looks like it will continue to rain tomorrow, I hope the weather is WRONG and there will be a break.

That is very kind of the Ramada. YAY!

Though I know with the weather so bad many may not want to keep traveling it. I know one mom said that the Residence has a Happy hour and suggested for those staying there to meet during it so that may be an idea for all of the hotels.

Congratulations to all of your New Sailors.

Prayers for those who still have a run to pass and BST-21. They can do it!

We made it !!!!   We ran into the flooding in Chicago...lots of traffic being re-routed because of the 94 being closed.  We took the 294 to the 94 as well.  See you all at PIR !!!
