N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I received a letter and a call today!!! What an awesome treat!! My SR sounded so good!! Aside from the Ricky crud and pink eye...he's doing great!! 29 days to go!!! He said this next week is going to be rough but he's ready to finish this!!! So proud of my boy!!!

Sherry:  Great idea!  If you haven't mailed it already, you may want to put it in an envelope so he doesn't have to "read it aloud" to everyone!  Just better to put postcards in envelopes.  If already mailed, that's ok!

Catie:  Glad that you will have the extra day with your sailor!  That is the neat thing about a 3 day holiday weekend!  Hope there are many more who won't fly out until Sunday.  Where is your future sailor going to A School?

Received second call this week So excited. SR states he has a tough division and lost a couple of recruits this week. He also got promoted and is now an E2. Talked for a whole12minutes lol

He sounded great!  He also said he wasn't going to A school until Sunday after PIR how cool is that!

passed around a postcard in the sales office where i worked to write or just sign for my SR.  Most of them have known him since he started school and he knows them.  He will like this and be surprised.  Next week i will pass another one around. Sherry

Received another letter from my S.R. today. Stretched from April 11 - 21st. He says that he is doing well. He has made a lot of friends. I can't mention the names cause he refers to them by last names, but they are from MI, HI,SD and PA. He said they are a tight knit group that have their S**t together.  He also said that they designed their Div flag, said he couldn't wait till PIR to march in with it.He is actually starting to enjoy PT, he said they make it fun for each other. Also craving some crazy things. Gave me a list what to bring with me to PIR.

maryanne:  I am one of the N4Moms veterans helping on these groups since early 2010.  So in our past experience, we know this (plus ellen, your group creator, has a son at GL A School!).  The GL A School students are blessed to get the most Liberty.  Memorial Day is a federal holiday, so they should have time with families that day also, unless they have "watch".  I believe "watches" are 4 hours long....so they would still have Liberty before/after the watch.

So plan on having that time with your sailor and book accordingly!

Good Morning All!
