For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Here is a pic of a Collar Device(I believe there are a different number of Chevrons depending on their position) that the RPO's wear:

On the Chart RCPO(Recruit Chief Petty Officer) = ARPOC, RLPO(Recruit Lead Petty Officer = AROC

But it is too hard to yell... "RRRRCPO or RRRRLPO get your ________ in here"...So ARRRRRRPOOOC and ARRRRROC it is.

These positions are just for the duration of Boot Camp.

K_Louise - Here is some extra info to go along with Jab=nets explanation from the RTC Website!

Recruit Dental Yeoman (DYN) (RPO2)

The DYN is responsible to RDCs for:

Assisting the RDCs in preparing and maintaining recruit dental documentation.
Coordinating appointments with the Dental Liaison.
Tracking the status of all special physicals.
Attending the medical/dental brief.

My SR had told me that any recruit in his division who scored a perfect score on the first test would earn a 15 minute call. He and two other SRs in his TG earned the calls! So happy and so proud! He sounds happy but tired. He is learning the Navy life and enjoying it. He said that he has not been told anything about traveling from BC to Nuke school and didn't expect to know that info until the last week.

K Louise -- a yeoman is basically a person who takes care of all of the paperwork and scheduling for the division. They have a division yeoman and two or three assistant yeomans (a medical yeoman, a dental yeoman and I think an athletic yeoman). My SR was the dental yeoman but is now the medical yeoman.

Communicate with her about the names.

The Guest list on the Form Letter is her intended Guest list....not her final one. It is to let the recipient of the FL know who they would like to attend PIR.

About 7-10 days before PIR each recruit will turn in a Final Access List for guests to Security. This is what the Master list for the security check point will be made up from. So you have time for that. Once this final list is turned in no changes may be made to the guests.
