Good morning everyone...busy day today.  2 Graduations and have to get ready for a garage sale next week. ughhh Good luck Lala on your yard sale.  Getting ready is the hard part...lol  27 days left till we see our SR's.  I just can't wait.  Have a great day y'all.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on June 9, 2012 at 6:56am

I agree Diannep, those were the good ole days for sure :-)

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful fun-filled Saturday. We are having a yardsale today so I will be back later this afternoon. I would love to Sell out so I can come back sooner lol.

Comment by diannep on June 8, 2012 at 5:40pm

Wow, familything...what a gift!  Of course, since everything has to be scanned now...nothing they can do.  Can't "ring anything up" without a working scanner.  I'm thinking the way they did it back in the "olden days" was the way to go--prices on the products, punched into the cash register....I can still remember the friendly conversation my mom would have with the lady checking us out...so personable.

I just think our world is suffering so much with "human contact" being taken away from so many situations now.  We all need that....I'm tired of talking to robots!  :-)

ASMO test?  What is that, amber?  I guess that is a test that if they didn't pass it, they would have been asmoed (setback)????  So glad you got such a great letter!

Hell week is Training Week 4 and is called that because they get up earlier, have lots of inspections and are very busy.  BUT it is also the turnaround time where they start becoming much more positive and focused on becoming that sailor....so it is a good point of bootcamp!

wow familything, that is awesome. Lucky lucky day for you!!! I love when good things happen to Great people :-)

Comment by familything on June 8, 2012 at 11:42am

diannep,  you are so right.  Your comments reminded me of a couple years ago when I was doing my weekly shopping  (my cart was very full).  I got to the checkout counter and the power went out. After a few minutes of panic they just started bagging people up and sending them on their way.  Everything for free!  It was early morning so most were just there for a juice or doughnut,etc..But I hit the jackpot.  I kept telling them I would come back later that this was crazy but they said don't even worry about it. :)

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on June 8, 2012 at 11:31am

I agree and the sad thing is most people working behind the register do not even know how to count back change when the computer doesn't tell them how much to give back. Do they not teach that in school anymore? We have become way to dependent on computers for sure.

Comment by diannep on June 8, 2012 at 10:38am

When you think about it, Lala...if a group just crashes all of the computers we are all so dependent on in this world. .... THE END!  Frightening thought to me. Don't think we could survive, do you?  Scary when I was at our grocery store not long ago, computers went down...and no one could check out...even if they had 2 items, a calculator and exact change.  Totally "froze" everyone in the store....yikes!  I say...bring some more people-friendly jobs back...and get more reliability!  And nicer shopping experiences!

That is an awesome idea ellen. Thanks so much for the tip.

It is horrible that people have nothing better to do than spend their days hacking computers  and creating viruses to make the lives of others so hard and EXPENSIVE. I swear I think sometimes it is the computer and antivirus companies who do this just so we have to keep buying their products over and over. It drives me crazy.
