Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

CaraM- that is awesome. The boot camp choir is near and dear to my hear. I will never forget hearing my daughter's voice as she sang with the choir for all those people. Here is a sneak pic of what you have to look forward to.

Comment by diannep on June 4, 2012 at 8:07pm: Yes you certainly can, Liz Sailor's Wife. We just suggest you use a plain white envelope rather than a colored one. Some RDCs don't care, others may have some fun with colored envelopes. Happy Birthday to your SR! No, they won't throw it away.

I sent the one about life in BC but if there are any newer ones I would love to send them to my son.. He loved the last one I sent.. He was like, "wow mom you really learn alot of stuff on that N4M site dont you?" He was soo suprised I knew about Marlinspikes and sharks LOL!!

Comment by diannep on June 4, 2012 at 5:35pm: misskatiebabie: The calls can come at any time. And don't be surprised if the calls are delayed until another day. They can lose the calls (whole division or individuals) or run out of time to make them...some may be on watch, at Medical, etc...and miss them. But....Phones handy all day just in case! Hope it happens!
