Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I am giving away free phone cards for Recruits to use while they are in basic training to keep in touch with Family Members and Loved Ones. I feel that the Family, Loved Ones, nor the Men and Women of our Armed Forces should have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp. Please click the link above and get your new Service Member the FREE phone cards they need.

FTLW and JessicaB have given us a "boatload" of ideas... (no pun intended) lol. My son loves comics so i guess besides jokes i will try and get creative with the comics. Today i'm going to get a manilla envelope and fill it with self-addressed and stamped envelopes. Can't wait to hear from my son.

I put a few wallet size pics from things we have done and of our family. I also put an encouraging quote or movie quote. I dont want to make him bored. Any suggestions for news or entertainment? Any specific website you recommend would be appreciated.

Comment by diannep on May 16, 2012 at 11:37am: katyellen: Once the SRs in this group start receiving letters, ask your SR who is not receiving mail in that division. Ask for the names and you will have the address info (same as your SR's). You can't post the names on this site, but you can post that you have some names of SRs not receiving mail and ask others to private message you for them. No last names of SRs are allowed to be posted on N4Moms.

Since you are the group creator, if you see any last names posted in error, please delete that post. You are the only one with the capability to delete on here.

The SRs love it when they get mail...it is their connection to the outside world. So I hope many of you are considering writing to those who are not getting letters. I have done this over the years and some of the SRs will write you back! It is really a fun thing to do!
