~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We're staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. It has gotten good reviews. The code in the brochure sent to you with your form letter gave us an amazing rate. It is $75/night for a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. We are bringing our other 3 boys so we need a kitchen so we don't go broke eating out, lol.
We checked out 3 hotels...Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn by Marriot and Courtyard by Mariott. All located near each other in Waukegan. My husband checked out the area and all are just a few miles from RTC and safe. They all had a high rating. My husband is a state police officer so we were able to book the government rate at HIE. I hope that helped.
Sean the Sailors Mom,
Wow!! You and your daughter are blessed to be able to spend time together in such an exotic location!! Please enjoy it and don't let her know you are not happy you are there with her because you were wishing your son was there too or that you would rather be with your son. Don't let our other children think they don't deserve our time with them because we are focusing on our SR/Sailor being away from us. I have to catch myself. I have 2 younger daughters too. I have an Anime Expo trip I am spending with my 11 year old at a hotel and all. My second one (20 year old) I've been just going to a movie here and there, talking to her more about what's going on in her life. She was inseparable with my Sailor daughter who is only 14 months older. Hoping with beach time coming, she won't mind spending time with me and her sister going to our favorite beaches. Our SR/Sailors chose their paths to grow up and mature and as much as we want them to stay with us until we're ready to let them go, we have to let them live their lives and know that God and the Navy are taking care of them. We need to take our baby steps moving on, mommas~~~
I've been searching through the various groups/discussions trying to decide on a hotel for PIR weekend. There are a lot of mixed reviews of some hotels and a lot of posts that are a year or more old. Anyone have a suggestion for a good hotel at a fairly reasonable price?
Hello All!
"Because You are with me,
I will not fear."
Psalm 118:6
While sitting in church. I decided to send our Sunday bulletins to him. He was active in our music running sound and video. So that was his Sunday routine reading it to get the music ready. Just another piece of home life for him.
We also got a call from our SR (Div 257). He also sounded great! He got his teeth pulled too. He is now a section leader and has passed all his tests so far. He said he has made lots of new friends and is happy with his decision. He did sound a little tired. He has letters to send out, so hopefully they will send them soon. What a great day!
I think I would feel the same way. But, I bet once you get to the Bahamas, you will be fine. Cherish the time with your daughter, while knowing you get to see your son at PIR, soon. 5 more Fridays, I'm told. Even though our kids may be having a tough time they are doing an amazing thing by entering the Navy! This to shall pass! Go Navy!
